Trying to get my account registered online, so I could conduct some info changes. Two phone calls, over two days, over an hour each. Metlife (policy) and Brighthouse transferred me back and forth time and time again. Never did find anyone who could help me, but I was finally emailed two different forms to do the changes, since no one could figure it how to do it electronically (or speak English). Breathlessly awaiting results...

Had a policy with them since 2016. They haven’t sent any correspondence in several years, electronically or snail mail. Need my policy number for court filings.
Called and spoke with some people who I legitimately think should require supervision to use a toaster. Gave them every single piece of important personal identification.
Over two days I was transferred to Met Life DENTAL insurance four separate times. MetLife said Bright House was managing and vice versa.
Embarrassment of a company and the second I get a policy with a company with IQ above room temp I’ll be cancelling.l with them.
Google, please make 0 stars an option for such reviews.

We surrendered a whole life insurance plan, and it has been nothing short of a NIGHTMARE getting our check from these people. I’m starting to think they stole our money. Do not do business here

Would give zero stars if I could. Just got off my 4th phone call trying to get the 500 dollars that is left of my annuity. The first thing they made me do is go to the workplace that started my annuity 30 years ago. Obviously no one knew I was but they were kind enough to sign for me.(The CEO did). I then received a letter saying they were .missing my signature. That was correct and I signed and sent it back. When I called them the person on the phone said he didn't see my signature although I was staring right at the e mail I sent. I was then told the CEO signature wasn't good enough. They wanted me to get a list from them for them. They will not make a phone call or lift a finger

I would give this company 0 stars! Consistently poor customer service. I have spent many hours on the phone getting nowhere. Shady company to deal with.

Terrible, Ive been trying for months to get an annuity surrendered to me. They continually ignore my request, don’t contact me when there is a problem. It has literally been months of me trying to get my money.

If only I could give no star. Consistently poor customer service. I have spent many hours on the phone. Getting hardly anywhere. Over quite a period of time. No follow through. Hardly ever a kept promise, no matter how clear and simple I state the issues. Want an annuity? Run away, unless you enjoy frustration. Ridiculous to deal with this company.

I've been contacting them for nearly 3 months trying to collect on an insurance policy my mother's parents bought over 80 years ago. I've completed forms and called many times. They keep telling me they've sent me an form to complete and the mail is slow. Really? Today I called, put all the details into the automated system and then was told they were closed and was cut off. I've managed to close my mother's ira and settle other things in this time. Even with the slow mail. They are clearly trying to wear me down so they can hang on to the money. Rotten customer service at the very least.

I'm trying to reach Brighthouse Financial by phone number given on the back of my yearly statement, which by the way have not received one for the current year 2023 should have received in March 2023. I got on the phone to find out what was going on? No answer at all. I purchased my life insurance policy in 2006 from Met Life they switched it over to Brighthouse Financial. I started reading the reviews on Brighthouse and now believe you me I'm worried that something is terribly wrong. I make my payments monthly by way of direct payment from my checking account, and every month they do deduct my payment. I cannot believe that there is not one person you can contact to get information on your life insurance policy. Met Life handled everything so well in the past. I sure do have my doubts and concerns now with Brighthouse. Hoping someone out there can shed some light on this problem with Brighthouse.

This is the worst company to deal with and I would not recommend to anyone. Unfortunately when I enrolled in life insurance with my mom it was with a different company and was switched to them. They are VERY unhelpful and have terrible customer service.

Upon the death of my mother and dealing with many financial institutions and various probate red tape-- Brighthouse was the absolute worst. Every answer from customer service is different. The paperwork is confusing (even the lawyers office did it wrong). What they sent and what they say for instructions contradict each other. They are horrible. I have sent paperwork in 4 times and had a lawyer finally do it and it is still wrong. This is unnecessary as I have dealt with so many other companies at the same time that our so helpful and make things easy. I would avoid them if you ever want to get your money out.

Only use if you NEVER plan to leave money to your family. They simply will NOT release the funds. Multiple phone calls, for an hour each time, signing edocuments, only to have the request denied EVERY time. Now contacting a lawyer, which costs me money, to get the funds my father left for my sister and I. DO NOT USE THEM.
