I don't trust this PetSmart anymore. My dog went in for a dental appointment and came out a completely different dog. I wanna say she was traumatized even if she was asleep through it. When we picked her up she wasn't responding to her own name. We brushed it off, thinking she was still feeling the meds. The next day, she was trembling and panting like crazy with watery eyes. Then a huge lump formed on her jaw. We told PetSmart about it and they gave us some pills to give her. Now she won't eat anything and is just very sleepy. She continues to tremble and pant.

They are selling species of Mbuna passing it off as another species. I don't know if it's because the staff is not experienced with these fish or whomever they are contracted with to supply them with these fish is deceiving Petsmart and taking advantage of their lack of knowledge. They have labeled a tank as Johannii Mbuna when more than half the tank is Maingano Mbuna. I asked for 5 Johannii and they gave me 2 johannii and 3 Maingano and I didn't notice till I got home. Also I asked for a Yellow Lab Mbuna and they gave me a female yellow Johannii. Not sure why PetSmart has people selling animals who know absolutely nothing about them.

I got 2 rats yesterday from them and the people doing the adoption process weren't educated at all on rodents and their needs. I asked what food I should buy for them since I wanted them to acclimate easier to living with us, and the woman who was helping me brought me to the hay section and pointed to a giant container of Timothy Hay. Little to my knowledge, rats can't eat hay. They just chew on it but can't digest it at all. So my babies went their first night without any proper food. I quickly went out and got them a bag of proper food later on. This is so dangerous, especially since i know some parents dont care to do any research on what diets their kids pets need. How many rats have starved because of this advice? When I said I wanted both rats, she seemed pleasantly surprised, and when I mentioned the fact that you need to at least have a pair of rats or else they get depressed, she seemed confused and said "Yeah I guess so?". This is Rat Care 101 guys, you can't buy them individually and have just 1 as a pet, and this makes me very worried that this location is letting people walk out with pets that need same-species companions.
Also, I very clearly remember getting more assistance and support during my fish adoption process and dog training, but the rodents don't get much love here. She said the cage I wanted was overkill, despite it honestly being the only cage that's up to standard with rat needs besides one that had bars that were too wide apart and would allow for rats to escape. She and another employee both grabbed these rats by the tail, which hurt them and only stressed them out more. They let kids just touch up on all the animals despite them not wanting to be touched which is just a recipe for biting and crying.
And that cage I mentioned? Damaged. One of the slopes didn't even clamp in correctly as it wasn't bent to fit into the holes. The screws never aligned correctly until we bent the frames into shape with way too much manpower than nessicary.
My rats are so much happier at home with us now. This experience was so disheartening and just reinforced my opinion on PetSmart not being a good place in general for pet care.

This PetSmart was okay overall, I thought that there would be a Banfield hospital inside but apparently that’s not all PetSmarts so that was the only disappointing thing to me.

Go to place for food. The selection has gotten a little bleak. But otherwise a good store. Associates are helpful.

I just left this petsmart a few minutes ago and I haven’t even left the parking lot, I feel so compelled to write this. Not only did they not have my dogs food in stock again, but when perusing the fish (not joking) about 1/3 of the beta fish were dead. So disappointing, disgusting and concerning. I reported this to an employee who swiftly removed the deceased fish. Betas should NOT be kept in cups or bowls. Treatment of their fish needs to be improved.

It’s safe to say this will be the last time I step foot into a Petsmart. I did it with target. Unfortunately these days you need to choose where you shop carefully. I’m so sick of walking into places and looking at pride flags for a whole month. Now I have to look at them where I buy my dog food. I’m so sick this constantly being shoved down peoples throats and now you have all these big corporations riding the wave of stupidity. Do we need to celebrate pride for a whole month? Do we need tone deaf corporations promoting this garbage throughout their stores? I definitely will start to reconsider everything I purchase. It ashame what this country has become. The country of 99 genders and tone deaf corporations, media and celebrities who all play the game.

Not enough people for checkout. The line got to 6-7 people before they opened 2nd register. So, a so-so rating. (At best adequate, at worst very annoying. So generally only an average rating across several visits.)
