To the disgusting girl at the counter who told me I will need to adjust my daughters hairstyle before she can do her passport picture today let me educate you, I met a super intelligent kind woman at hackettstown who knows how to adjust the camera she’s given and just do her job. Instead of staying at the post office and fighting ppl you don’t even know like you got issues with them. If you hate your job that much stay home or go to the hackettstown location educate yourself very well and learn some manners.

I dread going to this post office because I get talked to like I’m slow every time. I’d appreciate assistance from someone who works there and knows what they’re doing, rather than treated like I’m an idiot for not knowing every policy and procedure.
To the person who posted a review saying they “get courtesy and respect and receive it in return”: I’m super respectful and nice, always, AND I try to figure things out myself first. It doesn’t matter when people are on the defense the second you walk in because they hate their job.

Rude. I was spoken to like I was some irate customer, condescended to, raised their voice at me. Constantly spoken over. A slip was left on the door but there was no knock according to the folks home to receive it. The whole interaction began with them on the defensive. They admitted fault but then turned it around to blame the intended recipient of the package, insinuated he was lying about not receiving notices—nevermind that he requested redelivery online after the first slip was left. Insisted that they never attempt redelivery unless it is requested, which is a ridiculous policy even if it is true. Apparently the recipient should have called them to request their package be delivered—huh? Argued that he could’ve picked it up from them, and it seemed like the idea of someone’s work hours being the same as their hours of operation was completely foreign to them. Stated that the mailman knew the recipient because he works their route—which the recipient has confirmed is not true, and even if it were, I am not really sure how it’s relevant. Swore that the mailman would have no reason to lie about leaving notices—which is, again, irrelevant given that redelivery was requested after the first attempt. But I think most people would also agree that that’s total bull. We’ve all had slips slapped on our doors without a knock before.
Then they tried to act like they were doing me a favor by even delivering it instead of returning it to sender. After talking to me like I’m an idiot for the duration of the exchange.
The whole thing reeked of them trying to cover their own ass after making a mistake. I mean, why the hell would you just let an express cold pack box sit around instead of trying to deliver it the next day? Knowing that the contents needed to be kept cold, and that ice packs can only do that for so long?
I use USPS for all of my shipping, but this is the last time I ship something express through them. Guaranteed 1 day delivery, then it arrives 17 days later with the contents ruined, and the blame is placed on the person waiting for the package… make that make sense. Total waste of money and not even an attempt at sympathy from them.

Condescending and rude and insensitive to the struggles of other people. The absolute worst customer service. They messed up the delivery on a friend’s package and then tried to pin it on me. If I were physically able to pick it up, I would’ve! But my friend was told that since I’m so friendly with my mail man (who I have honest to god NEVER seen in my life), I could’ve just spoken to him about it. It honestly seems like they just forgot about it, which could be forgiven if they didn’t try to twist it and blame it on me not hounding them???? It was my fault for expecting a redelivery I rescheduled to go through as expected, I guess. Hindsight is 20/20. We’ve learned two things: NEVER send anything of value through usps and some people should not be in customer service. Oh, and since she likes to make it known, Miss Melody IS the post master and in case you forgot, she will remind you at several points while talking to her.

The workers always have a bad attitude and act like we're bothering them with questions. They need to overhaul that entire place with new friendly workers. Complete trash.

I didn’t have a good experience at this usps building. I am appalled. The young guy who helped my family including 2 children with the passport and pictures was so rude, stand offish and rolling his eyes at us while we had an appointment. He was short with us and lacked consideration. This is customer service people, decency is required and is part of the job. The services was not cheap either, we almost paid $300 for such terrible service. I’ve read the other reviews on this usps and they mentioned the same exact person, I know for a fact that it can’t just be us. People should have some compassion , especially when dealing with young children WHO ARE VISUALLY IMPAIRED . I understood that in order to take a passport photo my child needed to take his glasses off, so when taking photos of him my child couldn’t see anything and was getting nervous. Have compassion people seriously , do better!

The young man working the counter is the rudest customer service representative I have ever encountered. I understand people have bad days and it’s hard working in a position where you have to interact with people all day but theres just no excuse. From reading the other reviews, it seems as if a lot of people have had bad experiences with this young man. I walked in with a smile on my face and was extremely polite and asked a question and was met with huffing and puffing a rolling eyes. When you try to explain your question he cuts you off with attitude. If you are working as a USPS representative you shouldn't be mad when people who do not work for the post office ask you questions about their mail. It was actually embarrassing to be spoken to like that in front of a lobby of other customers. Whoever is the supervisor at this location needs to do something about this worker.

Very abrupt and rude young man at counter. He speaks quick, has no patience, I don't think he likes his job. Should not be at counter.

I do my best to avoid this post office, I have never had a good experience here and I've lived here 10 years, but I had some things ordered for my kids to arrive before the first day of school and apparently the post office decided to hold them and lie and say the person ordering the stuff requested it. So after a lot of back and forth I am going tomorrow to see exactly why they are lying about holding my kids stuff. I really hate to leave negative comments but it's been ten years with nonsense with this post office and to pay extra for next day delivery and have them hold it for days, and we already know they won't be reimbursing the 20+$ that were paid to get it there on time. I just want to know why they lied about their reasons for holding my childrens packages. I'm sure I will get no truthful answer but I really think it has to be illegal. I'm no expert on the law and am aware the post office has its own set of laws that are different than maritime but the audacity of it all. Good luck with this post office. Apparently you have to know them to be treated normal.
