“TRM Transmissions is an old-school, full-service automotive repair shop that has been performing scheduled maintenance and major repairs for vehicles in Morristown since 1983. If you expect an espresso or cappuccino and freshly-baked pastries in the waiting room when you bring your car in for service, let's agree that TRM Transmissions probably isn't for you. On the other hand, if you expect your car repaired by friendly, knowledgeable, and pragmatic folks in a no-frills environment without spending a small fortune, then TRM Transmissions in Morristown is the place for you. Unlike most dealerships' service departments, with service advisors pushing expensive periodic maintenance and throwing costly parts at issues rather than considering the root cause of the problem, Gino and his team are old-school mechanics who may seem to be a little rough around the edges to some, but are very passionate about their work and provide high-quality service at a reasonable price.Now that the extended warranty on my car has expired, I don't have to take it back to the dealership for routine maintenance and major repairs and I have the opportunity to try some other repair shops in the area. When my SUV and my sportscar required some unanticipated repairs this summer, both dealerships threw me a long list of items they said were required to be replaced to repair the issues and quoted me an obscene amount .. along with a caveat that it could wind up being even more expensive once they started to do the work. Gino quoted me much lower estimates for a more concise list of parts and labor to address all of the issues.. and then overdelivered on his promises by getting the work done ahead of schedule and at a lower cost than he'd originally estimated. I'm really glad to have an auto repair shop with friendly, knowledgeable, and pragmatic folks in town and I'll definitely use TRM for any minor maintenance or major repairs in the future.”

“I would like to start off by saying that Automotive Magic is the best mechanic shop I ever been to, they took care of my baby like it was a Lamborghini. That has been my problem with other mechanics they never diagnosed my car like they wanted to fix the problems afterwards. I would have never known my car had all these problems with any other place. All I ask for is honesty and professionalism that's what I received at Automotive Magic, they did a fantastic job with my car, she's riding like new. The prices were shocking at first but it wasn't their fault so many things needed fixing, she's a older car and it was mostly wear and tear . Worth keeping. The person inspected it and told me that it should be fine (she explained that she didn't see any liner from the spot) and that I don't need to do any work. “Unfortunately my transfer case broke one night on my way home from work in mid September 2021. I had AAA tow it to a local shop. That guy didn’t have the capability to fix it so he sent it to a well known franchise transmission shop who’s initials are LM. Well LM gave me a quote of $3000 to fix the broken transfer case with a 30 day guarantee! Me not knowing much about cars knew that was a very bad deal. I then reached out to my cousin who works at a Chevrolet dealership (I have a Chevy) to see if I could purchase the part from him. I could but with the supply chain issue, the part wouldn’t be available until mid November (a 2 month wait). I relayed this message to LM and he told me I had to have my car towed back to my house until the part came in. Problem with that is I don’t have driveway parking and wouldn’t be able to move the car if needed (such as for the never ending street repairs or snow). I asked him to give me a day to figure out what I could do. The next day I got very busy and didn’t get to figure something out. Late afternoon, LM called and said he had put my car on the street and in Union where he is located, there is no overnight parking so the car will be impounded. I googled “Transmission Shops” and found Dr. Marv’s. He had great reviews so I called him. I explained about the 2 month wait for the part and asked if he would be able to store my car. They said yes and couldn’t have been nicer! So I had the car towed to Dr. Marv’s! More supply chain issues and my part didn’t come in until the end of January 2022. I kept Dr. Marv’s informed of this. As soon as the part was received by them, my car was fixed a day later! Not only did they do a terrific job but between the cost of the new part and the installation by Dr. Marv’s, my cost was far less than the $3000 quote from the other transmission shop! “I've had years of dealing with fluid leaks from my 2006 Honda V-6 2dr cpe. After I moved this summer(2023) to Plainfield, inquiries at service stations and auto parts stores led me to Sal's Fanwood Auto Transmissions. Three leaks, one requiring dropping the transmission to replace a seal, were cured. All repairs were within estimates that were well below others offered "back down south." I'll add it was a pleasure doing business there and talking with Sal and "the crew."”
“I was highly recommended to Dave at Randolph Transmission. I was worried that my Subaru was on its last leg and panicked about having to buy a new car in short order. I left a message on Sunday afternoon and heard back from Dave 10 minutes after opening Monday morning. He immediately put me at ease. He assured me that the car could be fixed. “Som.. I'm driving down the highway and suddenly get an alert saying my battery is not charging. I don’t know where I am. I pull over and desperately start searching for a mechanic. This place pops up with good reviews. Kim was very kind and told me that they would check it out and I should probably go hang at a cafe! 30 mins later, he calls me and tells me that there is an oil leak and asks me to come over. I look at it and see oil sprayed all over the inside of the engine bay. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy, but I had to get it fixed. These guys were awesome to work with. It took them three days but everything was done correctly and they kept me constantly updated. The prices are typical for NJ and an itemized bill was provided. I would definitely go here again.Here’s another good thing about them – they are right across from the train station. And since I live an hour away, I saved some money by taking the train here rather than spending $100 on Uber. If you live in the area, definitely check them out!”

“I have an old auto in near mint condition. The transmission was on the fritz, not able to shift until achieving high speeds. I was worried I'd have to rid myself of the car because two other places said it could not be repaired, requiring a replacement transmission. That would have been very and too costly. “Our Ford Taurus 2005 AC didn’t work. They got us in right away and told us we needed to recharge the AC and refill the coolant. We then also noticed a leak that needed another part. He offered to order the part for us, and I asked if we could buy it somewhere and bring it back so we could get the car done the same day. He called a shop to see if the part was in, and then actually sent one of his guys to go get the part for us. When the guy came back he put the part in for us and then was just gonna charge us for the part $13 , but we paid a bit extra because they went and got it for us so we could get the car back same day.
