If you must stay in newark overnight, then this is an ok option. The room had a very strong (nauseating) smell of smoke, but it dissipated after opening the window for a few hours. Other than that, it was clean. The staff interacts with customers efficiently, but among themselves (and in front of you) it's not the most professional (swearing etc.)

Dear Robert Treat Hotel, I hope this email finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding my recent stay at your hotel, which was marred by several issues during the reservation process and after my arrival. Firstly, I would like to highlight the misleading information on your website, as well as on popular online travel platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and Price Line. It clearly stated that a free continental breakfast is included with the stay. This was one of the main reasons I chose your hotel for my accommodation needs. However, upon my arrival on the 27th, I was informed that no breakfast was available at the hotel. This miscommunication and false advertising is unfair to guests like me who rely on accurate information when making their booking decisions. Moreover, before making the reservation, I called your hotel to confirm the necessary check-in requirements. I specifically asked if my ID was the only document needed for check-in, and I was unequivocally informed that it was. Relying on this information, I proceeded with the reservation. However, upon arrival, I was told that there was an issue with the booking.com reservation, and the hotel needed my card for verification. This left me stranded at the front desk for over an hour, as my ride had already left. I was advised to cancel the reservation and rebook. I followed these instructions but encountered the same issue again. After requesting the cancellation of the reservation, I was informed that only the hotel could cancel it, and I was directed to contact Price Line for assistance. This led to an additional 30 minutes of back-and-forth between the hotel and Price Line, until the reservation was finally canceled. During this frustrating experience, I was assured by your staff that no cancellation fee would be imposed. Considering the inconvenience caused by the aforementioned problems, as well as the false advertising regarding the breakfast, I believe some compensation is warranted. I kindly request an extra night's stay at your hotel as a gesture of goodwill to rectify the situation and demonstrate your commitment to guest satisfaction. I trust that you will address these concerns promptly and take the necessary steps to improve communication between your hotel and online booking platforms to ensure accuracy. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to hearing from you soon. This is the email sent and did not get a response. When asking where to go for the continental breakfast as advertised on various platforms, I was rudely spoken to by the African man at the front desk. I paI'd $111 a night ( that's discounted) and stayed 2 nights. I will be seeing a lawyer because this is just absurd.

This hotel could be so nice if it were better taken care of. It was an immediate red flag that they don’t take a credit card for deposit upon check-in. The rooms reek of smoke and our first room had cigarette burns in the furniture. The business center and fitness area downstairs actually had broken glass and ceilings caving in with insulation falling out.We were able to get moved to the seemingly recently remodeled 11th floor with no issue which had much less smoke smell, but still not perfect and still with an uncomfortable bed.

They work with Expedia, a mistake was made with the reservation, a claim was made for a refund and they say they are not responsible for returns, terrible service.

Man this place was super nice, everybody was real friendly. My room was stellar, good nights rest, the view was incredible, I was envisioning myself driving a porsche through the city just feeling myself, knowing that I'm the man. I worked out in my room, I was listening to Ariana Grande while doing my hunned (100) push-ups, I did planks, and I did wall sits. I felt bad because I was going to order some pizza from pizza 2000, one restaurant and I fell asleep, so I didn't use my United Airlines meal ticket money for them, so if anyone stays here and eats at that place much love.❤️ ?? ✝️

Rooms were nice and clean. The staff was friendly and quick checking into room. The room was paid for by an airline voucher and the staff was familiar with using them.Walkability: Close enough to some nearby restaurants however I took an Uber to where I ate since it was late.

Good hotel, but... a terrible bathroom, the water was freezing, old furniture, the toilet was from 1920s... the air conditioner was so dusty and old, the only thing this hotel has is the location and the attention. I'd recommend it only if you're visiting for 1 night. I stayed one night and I wouldn't come back for more. I slept very well but the bed hurted a little bit my back. I liked the lamp and the sofas. Good decoration tho.Rooms: For one person you won't get a huge one. It is cozy, just for the necessary. I wouldn't recommend to stay more than one night. The bathroom terrifies me, it is so old and dirty, dusty and there's not hot water. You'll see dust in every corner of the room and here's your #1 enemy: noise. You can hear EVERYTHING, in the hall, in other rooms... I couldn't sleep for noisy guests... well, you can get better options of hotels, don't pick this.

I booked my hotel online on Expedia. However, I realized that when I walked in the service a bit off. Additionally, the room was super small, there were cigarette holes on the electrical outlet to turn the light on and the room smelled like smoke was in pore of the hotel. It didn't seem very clean. The lobby was appealing however, was not happy with the service or the room. Check out and went to the Courtyard Marriott.

Noteworthy details: Front desk should really require to have visiting cars that are parked to be valeted or ensure that the cars are assigned / associated with a room number so that if there are any issues it’s easier to file grievances like I had an issue with my wallet that has yet to be returned. On a positive note there is a check out where the driver just scan out using ticket therefor time stamps are easy to cross verify with street cameras and license plates can be verified for subpoena.

I stood at the Robert treat before without an issue until this past weekend, I woke up a bit late so was in a rush to check out and hit the road, as I was ready to leave the room I placed my carry on bag down, to get a tip out ..left tip walked out without my bag, I went straight from room to my car and straight on highway when I pulled over to get gas an hour later I realized I never grabbed my bag I called the hotel and was 1st told I needed to wait till 5 pm to see if housekeeper found it, I said no, they put me on hold for 30 mins then a different person came on phone and stayed there was no bag that was reported left behind. I asked for manager “ Daniel” explained to him I knew for a fact I left my bag in the room and all my personal contents. He said he would check and call me back, that never happened so I called back and he stated he was told no bag was in my room and to call back tomorrow to see if it turns up, I had my friend who was still in Newark personally go back to hotel where she was told to come back tomorrow to see who cleaned the room..in the meantime I emailed the general manager..and asked to review cameras, 2 days later still no response and his vm is full..she went back the next day and they acted clueless on the situation..I keep calling the general manager with no response. If I wanted to go to NJ to get robbed I would’ve stool at a cheap motel..instead of paying $200 for 1 night with thieves
