I am a capital one credit card customer and received an offer to open a checking account. Went to this branch. There was a lady sitting at the tableat, heavy accent, slender, red head. She asked what type of id I had and I said I had my drivers license and my work id and since I’m a government employee, it’s also an identity id. In the most rude tone and with a sneer she said “great for you that you work for the government but that’s not what I asked” I was taken aback by her attitude and tone. She then told me to sit down and after a while said that they do not open the account on the branch but online. I started to leave and she said she would send me the link but I refuse to give her my number. I opened the account on a nearby TD BANK instead. You might as well close this branch, at the very least have these employees take a couple of classes in customer service and retention.

This review is for the establishment as a whole and not directed towards a particular branch. I suggest anyone who has an account with capital one to close their account and look elsewhere. I have held my account for over 7 years, but when a problem occurred their customer service is no where to be seen. I spent countless hours on the phone with the bank, but got nowhere. My account has been frozen for over 4 months now and unable to get any legitimate reason to why. My funds were not secure with this bank as they immediately helped a scammer reverse a Zelle payment, even though I provided them ample evidence that I’m being scammed. Will be taking the bank to court very soon to unfreeze my account and move my funds somewhere else.

More concerned about putting a mask on my face then about depositing my money, when its 90+ degree outside also! Pandemic is over and these people(corporate) want to smother my face with a Chinese made, non medical mask. Be my bank, not my doctor. Been banking with them for a couple years and no one ever wondered about my health. Now its mask up whenever news break on a "new"virus case. Be my bank. No my doctor!

I've had trouble with this company since day 1. Opened my account about a month ago (actually closer to 6 weeks it took 2 weeks to get my debit card in the mail, which seems excessive). I'm told I had to wait 90 days in order to link my account to external accounts (paypal etc), which means I couldn't access my company's pay day advance service when I had an emergency a couple of weeks ago. Every time I try to access my account online (either via the website or the app) I have to have a code sent to my phone to confirm my identity. It's a pain and there's no way to disable it (I even called customer service to ask). And there's limit to how many times you can have the code sent, and once you hit it you're locked out of your account (I hit the limit regularly because the app constantly boots me off and I have to re log in). And in spite of this extra security, my account was still hacked. Keep in mind its barely been a month since I opened my account. So now I have to wait on a new debit card (which if the first time was any indication it will be several weeks), I'm locked out of my online account, I cant link my account with PayPal or anything to access my money (remember, 90 days). And now to top it all off, the only branch within walking distance to my house is temporarily closed so I cannot access my money at all.As I said, nothing but problems since day 1 and I'm seriously considering taking my business elsewhere

Security woman review,I went to this branch early on Saturday Aug 7 2021. Extremely busy day. Long lines everywhere. The security was a female young girl. She was so helpful, sry I did not get her name. She assisted me and many others reducing the lines very much. She would do an amazing job working for the Capital one bank too.

You know with most banking and business being done online, it would have been more than convenient for me to open up my Capital One 360 Savings online, in the comfort of my home. But sometimes you just need that face to face contact, to let yourself know that you are human, and this is how humans used to do business before the internet. Before apps. Before the phone. Yasidra was the reason I came in to Capital One and she is the reason you should go in as well. Customers sang her praise in the reviews online so I decided to go in to see for myself. I called earlier in the day and she was so patient on the phone. She said come in and she would help me. When I got to the bank she greeted me warmly. I had a nice cup of Keurig coffee and that warmed my spirits. She patiently walked me through the tablets prompts. I linked my credit card to my new saving , made a deposit, and was done in less than 15 minutes. All of my questions answered. What a professional. What a kind and sincere person she is. Yasidra thank you for making my Tuesday special. The reviews pegged you right. But be kind because kindness is you. The reviews will just go to serve as a compliment to the beautiful person you present to the world each day.

10/30/2020, I went to capital one bank in ironbound newark to open personal account. She told me you have visit our website online. I told her want your help to open account. We can't help you right now. She's say again visit our website to open account by your self.I told her ican come tomorrow to get help. She told me we can't do it. It's worst bank what have used.
