I just closed out my account with extra storage space. My experience with this place was fantastic and the service was great. I only needed to use their storage unit just for temporary I was i could have used it for long term however, a project I needed to be done in my home was done pretty fast. However I would highly recommend using this facility either for short or however long to need extra space. Paul and Alice was extremely helpful and courteous you will find either helpful in many ways. Pricing was reasonable space is extremely convenient. Thank you Paul and Alice for your exceptional service....

Absolute horror story. Prior to my move I came in and set up a reservation for the 31st of August. Things went smoothly and I reserved a 10 x 10 for $111. I was told after all fees it would be $189. On August 31st I scheduled my Cargo van from 9am to 3pm. I arrived at the Storage unit in good spirits ready to check in and receive my keys. (I had been receiving text messages and emails leading up saying things like āyour unit is clean and readyā ācome in and move your thingsā etc) I didnāt realize how horrific my day would go. Alice was kind and started to check me in and she realized my unit had been taken and given to someone else!!! She turned to her manager Paul who seems to be a man of few words because he didnāt even acknowledge or apologize for the mishap. They fiddled on their computer and came up with no answers. I let them know I was on a time crunch and needed to keep my day going. I told them to please sort it out and I would be back (I proceeded to move some things into my new home) . When I came back to the storage place Paul still didnāt have any answers for me (11am). I let them know I needed this size unit for the price that was guaranteed to me. The other representative seemed very helpful and told me the storage unit abt 10mins away had the same size unit for $55. Of course, I said I would go check it out and book with them but please hold my reservation and keep working on my guaranteed price. When i arrived at Extra Space Storage on First st. And asked about the unit they mentioned the unit would need a step ladder to get into!! And the inside of this place looked like a scene from SAW smh. I politely declined and called Life Storage. Paul told me to come back and they had it all worked out. When I arrived back (12pm) Paul told me there was nothing he could do and I would have to pay $234 today in order to secure the 10 x 10 I originally reserved. This was absolutely insane and I couldnāt believe the nerve of this guy. He showed no empathy and refused to give me the corporate number or his managers number. Seeing as though this is my move day and Iāve already paid $60for my U-Haul, I felt there was nothing I could do and I was at the mercy and unprofessionalism of Paul. Moves are expensive and I did not have this in my budget. I succumbed to Paulās little effort and paid the cost for their mistakes! We started to move some things from the van into the unit only to realize ONE elevator worked on August 31st what seemed like the day the whole Essex County decided to move. There was a ton of people backed up as was the elevator. When I realized there were multiple trips intended from my home and storage and there was no way Iād be able to get everything moved to my new home and storage by 3pm, I called UHaul to see if I could extend the time. They told me that wouldnāt be possible because a family had it booked. The U-Haul worker told me Iād be charged double because it would count as a whole day rental if I wasnāt able to make it back by 4pm. I ended up having to pay UHaul $134 (additional unplanned mileage going back and forth and to other scary storage unit place) versus my original $60. If youāre keeping up with the numbers then you see my wallet took a big hit on the 31st due to the inconsiderate and unprofessional actions of Paul and his team. There was never an apology issued to me throughout this whole experience. This day was absolutely mayhem for me and very stressful. Shame on this establishment. Shame on Paul.
I gave them 2 stars because the actual inside is nice and climate controlled. The End.

Horrible location, go somewhere else. There are 3 carts for this whole building and theres always a broken elevator. Worst part is the loading area, which is constantly blocked. Total mess, stay away.
