I purchased "Golden Apple Blintzes" from Shoprite NEWARK on 10/6/23. I eventually noticed the expiration date. I called the store as soon as I noticed, which was on the week of 10/9/23. So about two weeks ago. They told me to come to the store & bring the receipt. I just got around to returning it today 10/26/23, because of life and it's not like it could get more expired. I went to customer service & showed them the package & digital receipt. I was told to replace it, when I went back to replace it I saw that my package wasn't a fluke. Their stock of "Golden Apple Blintzes" was full of expired items. I went back to customer service to let them know that finding an non-expired item in that batch was like finding a needle in a haystack. The majority of their apple variety expired but the cherry seemed to be ok from a quick glance, but I can't be too sure. When I notified them two weeks ago about this I don't understand why they didn't check the stock then. The customer service rep put a paid sticker on the item and I put it in my cart with the rest of the items and went to check out. When I arrived home and looked over my receipt I saw that I was charged for that item. I called them about it and they said come back and bring the receipt. I don't know why I have to come back to a place that's not near me to show a digital coupon they should have on their end. When I called the customer service rep they made it seem like it was my fault I was charged because she said if it was on the conveyor belt of course it will be charged. I've never returned anything from the supermarket, so how was I supposed to know it didn't go along with my other items and it should be kept separate in the cart? Someone that should know the procedures is the check out clerk because why charge something that you see has a Shoprtite paid sticker? Then on top of that foolishness the way the clerk rang up my drinks didn't give me the promotion deal. Shoprite Newark has Bad quality control, bad customer service, and bad employees. The clerk I had last time I shopped was equally as horrendous and moved at a snail's place. I would have thought the senior line was supposed to help seniors get out more quickly but it was the opposite. Being waved to get in the senior line that was making no headway made no sense. Never again would I listen to a staff suggestion or get into the senior line. I spent an hour just waiting in that neverending line and because of the clerk's efficiency.

Need to clean up the outside of the store. Too many people loitering around. Especially at night. The workers are also generally very rude but you have to remember you're in newark and not a suburb. But overall the store is well kept

on July 3rd, 2022. every register needs to be open. doesn't make sense that each line was more than half way down an aisle (including self checkout) and all registers are not open. plenty of staff in the store so no excuse .

Mice running all around that place I used to love shopping there but once I saw these rodents roaming around I am so skeptical about going back to this place and the fact of the matter is I absolutely loved this place I thought it was the best thing that happens in Newark area but it's not given what is supposed to give I mean it's to the point now that you can barely find anything that's on sale because the people go there and wipe out the whole entire counter of stuff that's on sale not leaving anything for anyone else to even purchase is getting absolutely ridiculous make sure you're there and shopping before 7 AM because it gets crazy and after that I mean lines all the way wrapped around the isles this place is just not for me anymore

I actually really like this ShopRite! It's always well lit, clean, and smells decent. I love that they carry fresh fruit and vegetables that are never on the verge of spoiling by the time you get them home. They also have a hot food section where you can get wings and rice and other things already cooked. There's a flower section, bakery, and seafood section. Another thing I love is the variety of foods that they carry. For example, they have almond, oak, soy, coconut, rice, macadamia nut, flax and cashew milk, in addition to dairy milk. On this visit 3 of the floor associates asked if I was looking for anything that they can point me towards. I love how helpful and proactive the associates are! The only issue is that the lines are always long. But they move fast so don't be deterred.

Shop Rite has a broad range of items that are sold here, and it is one of the reasons that I shop here. There are many different brands and varieties that are sold including Shop Rite's own brand. The aisles are wide and the store looks very clean. There are two issues I find with this Shop Rite. One is you have to watch the prices. If it is getting closer to a holiday, or another government stimulus check is being given out to help people economically, then you will see prices Jump up quickly. I've seen items that usually sell for $3.99, Jump up to $5.49 the next week. Also, as a disabled person, I don't find many of the store workers know how to work with the disabled. Either they are totally naive to the disabled, or in some cases very rude. I really think this store should offer more training to the staff on how to work with the disabled. After all, we are in the 21st century now. Disabled people are no longer confined to their homes.

I don't know why I keep torturing myself. Every time I go this ShopRite there's always a problem. The deli department is the WORSE!!!! Nobody's friendly, always act as if the CUSTOMERS are getting on their nerves!! I was there recently at 7:28, I took the last number I'm assuming. Lady came in maybe 2 min after me.. there were no more numbers ( because they had took the ticket machine...Long story short, the lady that came in after me didn't get smart, wasn't rude or anything!!! The worker got smart and kept telling the lady," She gets off at 9:30 and she can't meet her in the parking lot!!!" I could not believe what I was hearing.. ( She( the worker) was sooooo disrespectful, and she said it to the customer more than 3 times) She wanted to fight this lady.... I don't care that I live in walking distance... I will be spending my money in Kearny, Hillside, or maybe even West Orange... I hate that place!!!! Rude a** workers..
