“Today, I embarked on a quest to find supplies to rectify the color issue on custom cookies I had ordered. The color didn’t turn out as I had envisioned, so I was determined to find everything I needed, including extras I might not have realized I needed, just to attempt a fix. All this effort was driven by the desire to make the cookies look exactly as I had imagined for my bridesmaids’ proposal boxes. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing to try and fix the color. I even started crying at the store because I felt overwhelmed. The store owner helped me calm down and guided me through the necessary supplies and showed me how to fix the color. In the end, she reassured me that whoever I choose to be part of my bridal party will love the cookies regardless of the color. ??
There are still good people in the world, and I truly appreciate everything she did for me today. I will be coming back for supplies but not to fix my cookies.

“My boyfriend ordered these online after a coworker brought some in, and he loved them so much that he ordered me a box to ask me to be his Valentine. We enjoyed most of the assortment, but the chocolate marzipan was awful. It genuinely tasted like soap and perfume. Aside from that, the chocolate was great.”

“Biggie's is great! The owners are super lovely and run it themselves. Their dog, Biggie, is super cute. Often there's people playing chess outside- it's pretty rad.
Inside is a vintage lovers paradise, or more specifically, a vintage smokers dream. They specialize in refurbishing old lighters, ash trays, and smoking sets. Trust me, they're awesome. If you're not a smoker, they have old magazines, game sets, and old-style soda. If you'd like to become a smoker but are scared, they have candy cigarettes. Sick!
Anyway, I like to pop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. You should pop in, too.”
“Mike’s is the perfect mattress store for someone who wants a quality-mattress at a fair price from a kind and knowledgable business-owner. I was able to pick out a quality mattress in 20 minutes today without anything but comfortable conversation and assistance (no awkward questions or up-selling like many places). Mike’s is a small place which makes the most of its square footage by filling it with as many options it can fit. Mike was able suggest a mattress based on our stated preferences, take it down to let us lay on it/try it out, and get it out to my SUV with ease. He offered to deliver it if needed, but that was unnecessary because he was able to position it for me with notable experience. If you want to buy a competitively-priced mattress that you can actually see and touch without a big production/hassle, I highly recommend Mike and Mike’s Mattresses.”

“Such a great variety of candy! My husband enjoyed sour peach rings and the classic gummy bears, while I got a taste of my childhood via candy cola gummies! And of course we had to get some dark chocolate covered nuts and pretzels!”
“Ray is an East Village celebrity. Originally from Iran, Ray jumped overboard a Navy ship to swim away to a new life in the United States. He started the shop in the 70s and has been around ever since. Even when Ray recently sustained an assault, he went right back to work. This institution offers various soft serve, fries, fried Oreos, hotdogs, chili dogs, egg creams, onion rings. Any number of fried foods one might eat after a drunken soirée. Someone commented on his Instagram page, “no one has seen me drunker than this man.” Most things are 7-10 dollars, though there are a few things that are more expensive, like 16 dollars or so. Pretty sure Ray is cash only. Ray still works the spot. He’s about to turn 91. If you want to see him, get on with it. New York changes all the time. One day you might show up, and Ray will be gone. Don’t miss your chance to experience this icon.”
“The gentleman behind the counter was very nice, knowledgeable and quick explaining pricing. Offered a free sample as we walked through the door to all of us. Was able to tell me what the best sellers are but I chose, Raspberry-Blackberry and Salted caramel bark. Both were amazing. Got 3 truffles as well but would definitely go back to try more bark if I had to choose.”
“If you’re anywhere near Bleecker Street, you have to stop by Porto Rico Importing Co. This place feels like stepping into a piece of New York history. The moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly roasted coffee hits you, it’s incredible.
They have an amazing selection of beans from all over the world, and the staff really knows their stuff. I asked for something smooth but flavorful, and they guided me to the perfect choice. You can tell they genuinely care about quality.
What I love most is the old-school charm and nothing fancy, just authentic, high-quality coffee at great prices. It’s the kind of place that coffee lovers truly appreciate.

The staff is mostly super nice to people. But one particular staff is kind of mean and likes to talk about people to the other staff members. But the other staff members would shut her down real fast. So tysm.”

“Perfectly Creamy, perfectly flavored chocolate is not just coating the Cashews, the chocolate blankets them. Thick and soft. The cashew is at perfect firmness, not too hard.
They are a little bit more expensive but not so much that Ill gladly pay a bit more for the quality and taste.
The worst thing about them is I cant quit eating them once I start so I buy 2 bags at a time. Found during an episode of munchies while standing in the checkout line at T.J. Maxx.”
