Exactly what you expect from a top car rental company. Car was clean and staff let us connect to wifi to book Uber after dropping car off.

Be careful with certain budget rental locations. Early drop off of the car may cost you more than original contract. Never heard that before from any other rental agency.

They lie too much , I call to ask if I would have to make a reservation of a midsize suv. A person called Ali told me it was ok if I walk in because they have a lot of cars available. When I arrived they said there is no cars , but in the website it shows me there is a car available but they said they just have mini vans and they would charge me the mini van price.

Had everything filled out besides the signing and id stuff and took him 40 min 1 person running the whole thing. We only had 1 person in front of us and it wasn't a line just that ridiculous. Didn't have the midsized car we asked for had to get a suv which is an upgrade but we wanted it for the gas mileage since we are driving a good distance.....

They were very friendly, great customer service, no hidden fees, very clean rental, and easy access to the location, Bus stop right there to take you to Journal Square to jump on any bus or train to go almost anywhere.

I am not too sure what all the bad reviews are about. My experience was seamless. Ordered my car online, did my pre-check online, showed up at 8am Monday morning to pick up my car, the agent was friendly, not pushy and I was in my rent a car 5 mins after I walked into the place. All in all a great experience. I am renting from them again.

Very rude customer service, very snarky comments constantly coming from the manager at the North Bergen, New Jersey location. They were rushing me to get everything signed without properly explaining anything and trying to get me to sign without examining the car beforehand. I paid for an elite upgrade and they gave me a lower model and had the audacity to tell me they upgraded me. No mention of any problems when I came to drop off the car, and then as soon as I leave they email me a damage report for something that wasn’t mentioned before. Can see why they tried rushing me to sign all the agreements without seeing the car. Incredibly shady, snaky behaviour from the staff here. I am a travel agent for celebrities and DJ’s and will never rent here again for corporate or leisure and will be avidly telling my clients my experience and actively avoid booking my clients rentals through budget.

Ali, the man that runs the budget rental office on North Bergen in Jersey is a crook. I booked a rental and prepaid a price online. I called the day before I was supposed to pick up the rental to modify my reservation and the Budget rental clerk helped me and had it all set. When I went to pick up my rental the lady at the desk said that the reservation wasn’t in their system. I tried to give them my confirmation number and then they said it wasn’t valid. I told them I spoke to the supervisor and it was confirmed with an email. That’s when Ali walked in and proceeded to tell me that Budget customer service always messes up reservations and he’ll have to cancel it and set up a new one. This was a prepaid rental - I paid it in full already for 4-days. You can imagine how shocked I was when they asked me for an additional $200 when the rental was now for only 3-days. They knew that I needed a car and they leveraged the situation. I told them they’re ripping me off and had to pull out a calculator to show them that I know math. Long story short, we took the car…we had no other options. The car was dirty and was past due on maintenance. These people do dirty business. Budget corporate should not allow these type of people to represent them. The worst…ever.

I'd give 0 stars is possible.Rental ran out of gas 11:40p on Fri night. After 9 phone calls n 4 days the vehicle was finally towed and retrieved. All while roadside assistance repeated to not leave the vehicle unattended. We were expected to sit on side of road waiting for a tow truck that was never coming. It was extremely danderous and unprofessional. We will NEVER rent from this company again.

I’ve been here twice. The first time everything went smoothly but there was something sticky all over the side of the suv when I received it. The second time, they did not have a car for me even though I had paid for the reservation weeks prior. They said no rental company ever holds cars for people. I had to call cust svc for my refund.
