After shopping around quite a bit, we found that Home Surplus not only offered the best prices but also exceptional service. Do not agree with positive reviews, online order process is confusing staff is untrained as some reviews have called out, they simply redirect you to another location. I wanted to avoid travelling a long distance without being absolutely sure, glad my business went somewhere else as these guys aren’t the best organized. Skip, skip, skip!

Home Surplus offers incredibly affordable interior doors and cabinetry. Scott Wang personally assisted me in designing my kitchen, and the result was stunning. I even returned a year later to purchase additional cabinets, and the prices remained reasonable. I highly recommend this store!

I ordered a laundry room cabinet and louvered door. I spoke with Scott at their North Bergen store. Scott was very professional and answered all our questions. Their prices were very competitive and I would not hesitate to recommend Home Surplus to friends and family in the future.

This review is to show my appreciation and recognize an outstanding employee “Ericson” who has the patience and professionalism with exceptional follow through.
I had to replace a window that was cracked but my dilemma was the fact that all of my windows were bought from Apex Home Supply in 2010 during the renovation & since then owner has changed and it’s now called Home Surplus. Still hopeful, I reached out to them and Ericson guided me through their current inventories & other options in an effort to match my window. There were several correspondences due to customized window order & also partly my fault for inaccurate measurements but he always had professionalism with courtesy. He made sure that I was happy with the result and always ended the conversations pleasantly.
In these days it’s very rare to see people who takes pride in their job and give their best everyday to people like myself as a customer/clientele. Ericson is an exemplary individual who surpasses their role to achieve something much higher and I wanted to share this to everyone.
I give thumbs up to the management for hiring such a fine young man and I sincerely wish Ericson all the best in future endeavor and may success follow you every step of the way.

Absolutely Fantastic Quality and Prices!
Initially went to big box store for design and pricing of full new kitchen. At Home Surplus, I paid half the cost for design services and wood, full overlay cabinets.
Had the pleasure of working with the team at the Keyport location; Steve and Stefany are wonderful, and Rufino at the North Bergen location is awesome! Don’t buy kitchen cabinets without checking this place out first.
Their bathroom vanities and interior doors were 40 - 50% less than typical retailers. They also have No interest financing as an option. I’d recommend Home Surplus to anyone taking on home projects.

My wife and I wanted to put a wet bar with a floating shelf in the basement. We had an idea of what we were looking for, so we stopped by Home Surplus.
We worked with Scott on the order. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped provide several different layouts/options and recommendations for our given space. It was great that he was able to provide us with some 3d visuals on the monitor to help us narrow down our choice.
We ultimately went with blue cabinets with copper hardware that span about 8ft. We absolutely love the color and how it turned out. The order and delivery was timely. Overall, a great experience!
