“The hotel is nice and clean. We ate dinner in the attached restaurant. Food was great. Our waiter, Mateo, was especially friendly and very helpful with advice for navigating public transit into NYC. The location made it easy to get into the city. It was a short ~$8 Uber ride to a bus stop where we could board a bus straight into the city and drops you off at the Port Authority near Times Square. It was less expensive than taking the train from the Path station in Hoboken. The only issues we observed were 1) you can’t stop water from coming out from under the shower door and spilling water onto the floor. Plus they don’t give you a towel/bath mat to put on the floor outside the shower. Be very careful stepping out of the shower to not slip on the water on the floor. 2) the hallway is extremely warm compared to the rest of the hotel. 3) They have coffee and coffee makers in the room. They only offer regular coffee for the maker. Being someone that can only drink decaf coffee it was a little disappointing. But, they do have regular and decaf coffee available in the lobby. All in all we would definitely stay here again.”
“My initial response was disappointing. I was given room 127 up the steep hill which required me to walk up 30 or more steep steps while pulling my luggage. I asked for a room on the lower level and was told none were available. After staying in that room for a week it snowed and I awakened to no electricity in the frigid cold.
I ran down the steep hill slipping and sliding to the office where I requested another room. Again I was told none were available.
So I remained in the lobby to stay warm.
Shortly thereafter the front desk attendant who I was told was the manager, yet she denied it with a smile - is of Indian descent and very pretty- informed me there was a room that I could stay in temporary until the electricity was restored. It was 10 times better than 127. So I petioned her to allow me to switch rooms and again I was told it was reserved for someone else. At this point I am about to blow my stack.
So gracious I took the temporary room. A half hour had elapsed and she called me on my cell and said the electric wasn't coming back on anytime soon and that I could remain in the new room.
I was shocked and elated.
Finally I am getting my money's worth. A 50' TV and marble floored bathroom.
The only complaint is their Wi-Fi sucks terribly by making you log in and out every other hour. I thought it to be the cold weather but it has persisted every day that I have been here and it is anoring as heck. The so called breakfast consist of a small OJ and 2 small muffins.
The coffee was delicious for a few days and I guess when they replenished more it began to taste awful.
The brighter side is the room service is excellent by smiling ? friendly latinas. My favorite was a Honduran lady
Overall I would highly recommend booking a room here as long as it is on the lower level because the units up the hill appear to be straight out of the 60's.
The room rates are quite reasonable at $160 per night and up. It is quite, no loud music and no rifraffs ?”
“Very Clean room and bathroom. Roomy stand up shower. In room with king size bed there was a fridge and microwave in addition to small amenities like coffee maker and blow dryer. There’s a pull out desk area with plenty of light and electrical outlets. WiFi is free and works well. Check in and check out were very easy with friendly staff. It is a little noisy from outside at night but not bad, if you’re really sensitive bring ear plugs and it’ll be fine. Plenty parking free and available in the parking garage attached to building. Hotel itself is a little hard to notice at first but it’s in a convenient location to get to nyc and only 5 minute drive to the meadowlands expo center. Over all, good value for price.
Rooms: Includes fridge and microwave”
