On Saturday, September 30, I visited the North Bergen Home Depot with the expectation of receiving a satisfactory customer service experience. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a complete failure. I noticed that there were no associates present in the painting or lumber aisles. I then proceeded to the rental section where I rented an upholstery machine. However, upon bringing the machine home, I was extremely disappointed to find that I couldn't figure out how to operate it even after watching multiple YouTube videos and reading the user guide on Google.Early the next morning, I returned to the store seeking assistance. A young man with glasses was very pleasant and understanding. He was able to help me resolve the issue with the machine's functionality. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when another associate (who had black nail polish on his fingernails) got involved. His involvement led to a negative experience. The shift manager on duty that Sunday, October 1, 2023, approached me with a complete lack of understanding and immediately stated that I would not be receiving a refund. It's important to note that at no point did I request a refund; I simply sought assistance of an understanding to indeed change the 24-hour rental of the machine, to the next day return. The shift manager's actions directly contradicted the "Business Code of Conduct and Ethics" policy, which emphasizes values such as excellent customer service, building strong relationships, entrepreneurial spirit, respect for all people, creating shareholder value, doing the right thing, giving back, and taking care of our people. The manager insisted on not listening to my concerns until I made it clear that he was not understanding my perspective. I then requested a refund on but as of today, the refund has not been reflected in my bank account. I am extremely disappointed with Home Depot and consider them to be a complete fraud. Considering their low staff, one would expect the managers to serve as role models to the associates and provide an exceptional customer experience in order to retain customers. Unfortunately, the shift manager for the Sunday morning shift on October 1, 2023, failed to adhere to company policy and failed to act as a role model. To be honest, it would be better for you to purchase the device instead of renting it. That way, you would have it available whenever you need it, in the comfort of your own home, without worrying about managers or associates ruining your day due to a lack of customer satisfaction.

I would recommend allowing customers to rent vehicles without using the App. It is a frustrating process with setting up the account, retrieving passwords, choosing truck options, etc. Most people don't rent trucks regularly so keeping an App on phones does not make sense for most. The Customer service rep had to call someone to override the system. I was sent out to the lot trying to find my assigned truck in a sea of trucks. I was also supposed to come back into the store after finding my truck after doing some sort of initial inspection with the app but an employee working on the trucks told me I was all set, but was unsure regarding an initial inspection. I left with the truck wondering if I completed the check in process. Finally, there was an obvious migrant following me around the area to get hired for moving services. He would not leave me alone while I was trying to figure things out. There is no right turn from the place so I had to travel a couple miles down the road to get back on my correct route. The only positive was that the drop off process was easy with the staff members on duty.

I went to Home Depot as part of my search for a new fridge. They had two of the models I was interested in on display. John worked with me for over an hour and was hands down the most helpful and knowledgeable sales person I've ever encountered. I would have loved to buy from him, but he advised me to purchase elsewhere because Home Depot will not remove refrigerator doors for delivery. I live in an apartment with a narrow kitchen doorway, and there's no way to get any refrigerator in without the doors coming off. He spent substantial time with me despite knowing he would not get the sale. If you don't have these constraints, go and ask for John. The three stars are because I would have given him 5 stars, but Home Depot and their policy only 1.I subsequently confirmed online with Home Depot that it is up to the local delivery teams whether they will remove appliance doors for delivery or not. In the NYC area, this is a misguided policy. Many apartments are small. Other major dealers do this without question.

This store not only has the worst Curbside assistance but the worst customer service. Employees are standing around socializing while service is not being provided.

if I could pick no stars it would be great!! I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars with homedepot and the way they treated me on my last order is horrible I was told my delivery was going to come on a certain day and I would be getting a phone call before arriving My order came in three days early with no one calling to say they are on the way however it was completely damaged/used/missing parts/no box and the banana delivery driver still thought it was a good idea to leave it in the middle of my driveway mind you 600+ pounds to move I have called the North Bergen branch to ask them to reach out to the driver and tell them to turn back and pick up the item immediately as it's blocking my driveway/The condition it was in they could have carried less and said "we can come at some point next week it's Friday afternoon what do you expect" I/my multiple developer friends will make it a point to the location/Home Depot themselves on the amount that I/we spend there a year and stop using homedepot do to the way that they handled the situation But I'm sure they would've handled it a lot different if it was the clients that "tip" them :) homedepot reach out to me immediately either way will talk soon

I placed an order for online from this store and paid for same day delivery. After three days repeated calls assuring me that it was on a truck and would be there any minute, I cancelled the order.

I went to buy a ladder and found the place very disorganized. I needed help with checking the price. Many workers were just standing around in groups, not being productive. A young lady assisted unenthusiastically. I decided to try the next door, Lowes. A nice young lady greeted me and offered to get a cart, seeing that I have few items I picked up at the garden shop. The place was very clean, well organized and friendly. I bought a ladder for 240, and I was happy with the experience.

When you need something to complete your project at home, you need to go no further than the next Home Depot store. It will have everything you need.

If I had the option of rating zero stars, I would. A STRONG ZERO... First I would like to start off by clarifying the fact that this is my first time ever writing a "bad" (in my honest opinion terrible) review about a business. I came to this Home Depot to buy a barbecue grill, screwdriver and a propane tank. As simple as that sounds and should be, it wasn't.. Every single staff member was clueless about where they kept all three items. It took one hour and a half to find the grills, then the tank & screw driver. We received zero to no help, just blank and confused faces. Absolutely, no... INSANELY absurd that this Home Depot is still up and running when 98% of the staff is completely clueless and honestly serve no real customer service. Save yourself the shock, headache and irritation, it's better if you go in here and look for things yourself.

As a new homeowner i catch myself in Home Depot a lot. Before we first moved in to the new condo, we made a lot of different trips to this Home Depot which is the closest one to me. We wanted to paint the whole apartment so we made a lot of trips just for paint. They have a lot of colors and varieties. We decided to take home a couple of samples just to see which ones would look better. The samples cost around $5 and comes in a little can. At the end our favorite one was the Roman Plaster color. Which was a beige off white. We have also bought shades from here, LED Light bulbs and a lot of other stuff.

Zero customer service. If you need to find something, avoid the children chatting with phones wearing Home Depot aprons. Seek out the older people. And even then, you might get sexually harassed, racially profiled, or both. Hate this location! Go next door to Lowe's. Better business with nicer employees who are knowledgeable.

My' husband called a day prior to renting a van and was told there was one available for rental by a person named John. My husband said he would come tomorrow and John said he would be there that same day to help him with the rental. My husband said 'are you sure it will be available because I am coming in from Jersey City and I don't want to make the trip for nothing?" He was assured that the van would be available. Come the next day, no van and no John. Truly a very unreliable store with unreliable workers. Cannot recommend dishonesty and irresponsibility. One other thing your website to rent the van is insufficient because it didn't allow for the customer to reserve the van that was supposedly available because it wasn't functional and that is why we had to use the phone. Get your act together Home Depot and fix the vans you don't have working in other stores and stop lying to customers on the phone. Disgraceful.

I was looking for some steel hardware clothes, asked employees and they gave me the wrong location. When I finally got someone to tell me the correct location the shelve was empty but online it said they had it in stock. So I went to customer service and the system clearly said they had it in stock. I was told someone would be sent over to help me find it. When the employee got there they started chit chatting between each other for a solid 5 minutes before turning around and telling me "ya so whatever is on the shelve is whatever we have". Employee clearly looked like he didn't want to put in the effort to go find it and was trying to get out of working. Not to mention I was looking for hot glue guns as well and I was also given the wrong location 3 times!!! Employees are lazy and don't want to help out. Last but not least I Just wanted a key to be made. After 10 mins got it made but turned out one of them was wrong. Went back and returned the key in hopes to get it fixed and no one showed up. I saw employees walking around in groups hanging out and talking to each other as I waited for assistance. I went up to one of the employees and asked for assistance because I was still waiting. "Okay I'll send someone over right away" and nothing happened. Walked out frustrated once again at the lack of customer service. I went right next door to lowes and got everything I needed right away. Took me 20 minutes in lowes without knowing where everything was and asking for directions. Things were where the online website said they would be for once (shame you home depot) and everything was neatly stocked. Friendly employees and helpful as well ( recommended me tools to cut and manage the steel hardware and showed me where they were which helped me out so much!) in comparison to home depot where I spent an hour and a half not getting anything done and trying to find tools because even the employees dont know where they are lol

it starts on high up management don't have ledermanship and don't know how to communicate then more worried and being friends with the employees and being their bosses.. especially when you have young management more interested in picking up girls then running a business I have first hand experience I work at one of their locations.. we have walk through inspections but there's no surprise about it when all management and hrs know at what time and what day the head bosses are coming that's when they clean up store and make believe they're doing work.. corporate when they do a walk through should look at the hours and overtime the people have put in before the inspection that will tell you a lot when they are really working and when they're not
