Terrible service at QuickChek #142
1196 How Lane North Brunswick NJ
– rude employee with alarming behavior
I visit QuickChek #142 every morning between 4:45 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. to get gas before starting my day, and I’ve had a consistently negative and concerning experience with the same employee who is supposed to provide fuel service under the New Jersey Retail Gasoline Dispensing Safety Act.
This employee — who refuses to give his name — is always sitting inside a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, instead of being at his post to assist customers. Every time I arrive, he is unavailable, and when I politely confront him, he responds in an extremely rude, unprofessional, and vulgar manner. On a recent occasion, he told me he doesn’t care about his job and that if I didn’t like it, I could go somewhere else. His attitude became so aggressive that I felt the need to take out my phone to record and hold my pepper spray for protection.
This is not an isolated incident. It happens almost daily, and I have receipts to prove it that I come every day . Employees like this should not be working in customer service — his behavior is hostile, dangerous, and completely unacceptable.
I appreciate that Ramont and Anthony tried to de-escalate the situation and provided me with the name of the manager, Kevin, whom I hope to speak with soon to resolve this issue properly.
I do not recommend this location while this employee continues to work there.

THIS LOCATION IS IN NEED OF NEW MANAGEMENT , THERE IS NOTHING LIKE HAVING UNHAPPY CREW MEMBERS WHO PURPOSELY MESS UP ORDERS AND FOOD THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO VOMIT.

When I come to this location at night , the young men take forever to do my order and they mess it up ! I cannot stand this location. Prefer the one off route 1.

Worst quick check I’ve ever been to. Just a trucker trying to get some coffee. 10PM not one coffee pot made. All workers just hanging around. Not one register being attended to. It’s just sad at this point.

Staff is terrible, unattentive, or rude. Food is mediocre and they don't rotate it warmer snacks or coffee as much as they need to.

Worst QuickChek I’ve ever been to. They somehow consistently make your food wrong, it’s almost like they do it on purpose. Extremely slow at making your food wrong even when you’re literally the only customer in the building, If I could I would rate this place a 0 out of 5 stars.

Today, we had a wonderful interaction with what ended up being the gas attendant manager. His name was Kevin and he was very friendly and informative on how to use the app when fueling for rewards. Never had a good interaction with a gas attendant before, that was definitely a first. Before we would always go to the rt 1 Quick check, but we stopped going because the main attendant was rude and made us move from one pump to another which was fine but just the way hed ask came off as super authoritative for someone whose job is to pump your gas, but that's just my opinion. Anyways, Kevin was great, definitely deserves a promotion.

Always a great experience at this QuickChek. I work right down the street and spend most of my lunch breaks here. All of the staff is friendly and hardworking. An employee named Kevin that I frequently have conversations with, is always making sure the outside is clear from litter/cigarette butts which is always great to see that he genuinely cares about what he is doing and his work environment. Keep up the awesome work guys.

I was looking for forks, asked if it was by the soup and was told yes which isn’t a big deal. I’m new to going there. My problem is the bald man who wouldn’t walk a few feet over to show me, yelling at me “STOP!” As I walked over to the soup to double check for the forks. He was trying to tell me it was by the hot sandwiches which I was walking past. He caused a whole scene screaming stop like I was a criminal. All he had to do was walk over, show me or not confirm it was by the soup. I don’t know what training is provided for him yelling at a customer like that so early in the morning and he may have been a manager bc his shirt was different. Shame on him and shame on quick check for allowing that nonsense.

Very rude associate “Avola” girl with the face piercings. Was on her phone at register when I did self check. Once the kind associate in the back informed me that they did not have the ingredients for my shake I asked could “Avola” refund me and the attitude was very present. She was still on her phone when I asked. I hadn’t printed a receipt due to the fact it was a small transaction. Then proceeded to give me an attitude when she had to print the receipt. So sorry I had made you get off your phone and do the job you applied for!
