I went to go pick up an order at this ulta location. My order included a cover girl lip gloss and press on nails. I arrive at the counter and politely asked the young lady for my order. With a nasty attitude she gives me my order. I walk out of the store and realize the lip gloss tamper seal has been broken. I walk back into the store and let them know "hey, this item has been tampered". The associates put very little effort into fixing this situation. The associate tells me that the item is out of stock, and that I can go pick it up in west long branch. Why would drive 25 miles to pick up a cover girl lip gloss. So I ask if they can ship to my house since they made the mistake and wasted my time. The associate refuses to ship it to my house and claims she would have to recharge me. I did not wish to be recharged, since this is a careless mistake on their part. It is disgustingly dangerous and careless to sell used cosmetics, specially a lip gloss. I finally just asked for a refund beause I did not want to keep interacting with the associates that were giving me a hard time. My friend walks into the store 5 mins later to pick up her order while I wait in her car. She informed me the associates were mocking me. Please train your associates since they are lacking in customer service and professionalism. If I wanted mean girl energy I would go to sephora instead at least they have better brands!Will not be returning to this location :)

Kristen was my associate/cashier yesterday when i visited ulta and she was so kind and resourceful! she made me aware of store policy’s and also helped me find all of my products as well as how to use my rewards accounts to collect points on my purchases. She is an amazing employee i hope she’s there everytime i visit this ulta

I visited Ulta in North Brunswick and Kristen was so attentive! She made sure me and my sisters needs were met. She’s truly the best and so helpful! Thanks again Kristen!!

I felt uncomfortable in the store as I felt I was being followed. I found an employee near the drug store section. I asked her to help me with the perfume. After taking the product to the front, she proceeded to follow me around the hair care isles. When I reached the front check out the employee was still following me. She let the check out girls (who were amazing and friendly) know she was going on break. I spend hundreds on dollars every time I go to Ulta.I wanted to return the products as I was in my car thinking about what just happened. But I’ve needed the products for a while now and did not want to start all over. I waited a couple of days to make a complaint to make sure I still felt the same way. I read other peoples experiences at this store and how they feel they’ve been treated in racist ways and I’m starting to think I might be right in my feelings.There’s certain Ulta’s where it’s hard enough to find products for my hair type. This location has what I needed but this experience did not make me feel welcome at all. I will be finding other locations to shop.

I have gone here a few times and generally my experience here is fine, the past two times though, I have been here I have noticed a difference between how I have been treated in the store and how others (White) customers have been treated. This past time I walked in and not one person asked if I needed assistance and one employee stared right at me and said nothing. A few minutes later two white customers next to me were shopping, and at least three employees asked them if they were being helped. In addition, so have noticed that there have been less products for Black and Brown people at this store and an over abundance of products for fairer skinned persons. Please do better!!!

I booked an appointment for the end of June back in February. I called the week before when I had a scheduling conflict to see if I could push back my haircut an hour. My hairstylist had been switched. The staff could not tell me when it had happened or why I wasn’t informed. I was frustrated but just pushed back my appointment 2 weeks. No one ever apologized for the inconvenience, and thankfully I called or I would have had no idea.I walk into my appointment a few minutes early to see that she double booked my time. I had to sit and wait 20 minutes to actually be seen. I understand sometimes appointments run over but her starting a client as I walked in was unacceptable. The other client and her were discussing what color to dye her hair and had not even started. Lorena came to get me and was rushing through the entire process. She apologized to her manager and a trainee who had to wash out her other clients hair dye, but never to me for the situation. Lorena rushed through my haircut and had awkward smalltalk. She seemed embarrassed at the situation. I told her how I parted my hair, and she parted it on the other side when she was done. Not a big deal but she rushed me out of there. I paid and left and once I got to my car, I correctly parted my hair and started to cry. My hair looked like a shelf. The photo of me in blue is when I walked back in and asked her to fix it. She never apologized only said “my lines are good”. There was no blend at all. The layers are still horrendous. It’s a haircut that is 1) much too short, as I requested just a few inches. There is a before photo attached as well and 2) Is very poorly executed. I waited a few days and I’ve tried to play around with how I style it. But it is honestly a terrible haircut. The layers are too intense to look good and the shelf look is slightly better but still terrible. I spent a good amount of money on this and I am heartbroken over how my hair looks. Lorena is an “Elite stylist” at ULTA and she hacked off my hair. Now I will have to pay someone to fix this mess only going to get shorter. Lorena was unprofessional and poorly manages her time at the Salon. I never once felt taken care of and I will never be back. I also do mot appreciate being called Love. I think it might be an ULTA thing but it’s super uncomfortable.

This staff is SO great ! LIKE COME ON ! Every time I walk In here I feel so much positivity . The two girls at the MAC area are so knowledgeable & kind . They are what every person in retail should strive to be . Great customer service from Juliet & Kristin always . Will never go to another Ulta !

AVOID SALON SERVICES AT ALL COST. On the website it has textured perm as an option . The person I booked knew nothing about what she was doing . I’m new in the area and decided to try here. I knew a bit about perms, not a professional but automatically knew Lorena didn’t know what she was doing. I asked for tight curls and she for some reason kept insisting I get larger curls. My hair is wavy it would make no sense . So I kept insisting I wanted tighter curls . Finally the manager Sherri stepped in and pretty much had to guide her every step of the way . She finally told Lorena to switch out some for smaller curls . She did my hair took fine however instantly as I expected the curls only activated on portions of the hair . I instantly complained they said cut your hair which I did and waited a bit the only portion I saw a slight cir is at the top where they added smaller rollers . Either way they were using the perm solution why not switch all to smaller rolls. I was given nothing but excuses. Finally I complained again and 2 times I was suppose to come in to redo the service they some how lost my scheduled appointment. Fast forward 2 months later of sherry the manager giving nothing but excuses and the run around I get my money . Please don’t waste your time or money. Expensive for no reason .

Horrible pick up experience. Went to pick up with an order confirmation. And the associate that attended me ask for an id. Like really I was picking up for my sister I gave her name plus order number. Like was it diamonds it was just make up. and she was being an ignorant. Horrible pick up don’t order for pick up

I had an appointment to have my makeup done. After a lot of back and forth, the manager came out and told me my appointment was not in their system because of a computer glitch. The error was clearly caused at their end. Yet, they made no effort to compensate me in anyway. A business that truly values customers would done something.

I had such a bad experience here today. I was racially profile and followed around this store. I have never in my life had an experience like this. I spoke with the manager.I have posted my experience on social media and o have written to corporate. I advise to stay away from this place and all Ulta's if they are training their employees like this. I gave one star because I had to for the review to post however zero stars should be given.

I want to share a great customer service experience I had today with Lauren from the North Brunswick Ulta location. Lauren went above & beyond over the phone with me over an issue I was having with a “buy online & pick up in store” order. She was patient, worked to get to the cause of the issue, and even went to the store’s stock room to see if they had any inventory of the product in question. Lauren was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The store is lucky to have such a wonderful asset!
