I purchased a 2018 Jeep for my daughter. This was my first time shopping at CarTopia I generally buy my cars direct from the name dealership, however, was pleasantly surprised here. Great customer service. My salesman Miguel was so easy to work with, humorous, patient with my questions, and answered all concerns. Mauricio in Finance made sure to get us the best affordable rate within her budget. As far as dealer fees, pricing, registration etc., I went to 3 dealers within a 50 mile radius today, researching the same/similar model and think the costs were all within a couple of hundred variance per dealer. I chose CarTopia because I got the better mileage for cost. Highly recommend.

I’m not saying to avoid this dealer, but be aware of these increase in prices via fees before spending your time here.Came in and taxes and fees resulted in a 30% increase compared to the listed vehicle price online. This means if you see a $20000 car listed on their website, expect to pay $26000 in the end roughly.Let’s get the essential fees aside, they estimated $300 for registration/title fees. Then for a $20k car, taxes would be around $1200-1800 depending on the state you’re in.So $1500-$2000 of the fees are required by law.The dealer also adds their dealer fees, which is entirely up to them. Sure, they need to make a profit, but the extent of which they can control.First, their doc fee of $800Then in my case, a reconditioning fee of almost $3000 (may be higher or lower depending on the vehicle but I’d assume it would unlikely be lower than this.So far, these fees add up to $3800On top of all these fees, tax is applied to these fees as well, so the effective total fee with the tax rate was around $4000.$4000 in dealer fees + $2000 in required state fees = $6000 in feesIf you’re financing and making monthly payments, this is probably an extra $100-$150 a month. The majority of which are dealer fees.Quick reference for people on the list price you’ll see online / on the window vs what you’ll likely actually pay in the end.$10000 -> $15000$15000-> $20500$20000 -> $26000$25000 -> $31500$30000 -> $37000$40000 -> $48000$50000 -> $59000Update: Since the dealer has replied, I would like to clarify that the reconditioning fee is not in fact optional, as all the “reconditioning” would have already been done on the car by the time you are looking at it.I’m not sure what cosmetic certification is being referenced in the reply, but it most certainly is not worth $3000+. If the dealer is charging for detailing the car, that would at most warrant a few hundred dollars.

The dealership appears to be quite nice to work with in person, but their ability to support remote buyers is impressively incompetent. I had to call back every time I wanted to move the purchasing process forward (had to make the "first call" twice actually, as I wasn't even in the system after the first call), said multiple times I wanted the vehicle, and while waiting on them to do their job regarding the process it was sold to someone else in person. I was never presented the option to put a deposit on the vehicle despite stating clearly that I wanted to purchase it.It is clear to me that the procedures used with remote buyers is in need of revisiting. I will be avoiding listings from CarTopia in the future if at all possible.
