Website online deposits and account information are really good. Mobile check deposit is great. 800 number gets personal banker with minimal wait times. Very good experience so far.. don't know what all the negative talk is about.

I had a loan with them out of the Montclair Branch that was going well until the very end. After I made my final payment and zeroed out the loan I stopped logging into their website. Apparently the month that I paid off the loan, Proponent added 0.60 cents to my loan balance for accrued interest. This amount fell below their $1 threshold that is needed to contact a customer about unpaid balances. Well, it wasn't until I got a notice from my credit monitoring app that I was 30 days late on a loan, I contacted Proponent and told them how unfair it was to report me late to the bureaus over 0.60 cents when I wasn't notified! They took no initiative to fix the matter. I for one will never do business with them again.

Not only are there Limited "In- Branch" hours- But I have called 3 times today and waited 10 minutes each time and have spoken to no one. I lost my debit card10/22 and it expected it to be delivered by 10/1..... the latest... sir, its not here!

I love this credit union! The staff is super helpful and patient. My husband and I are forever greatful for Natasha! She knows everything! As a customer service supervisor I’d love to have her on my team! And Stephanie also super helpful! I left my other credit union months after dealing proponent. They’ve helped us build a strong financial foundation and I ask ALOT of questions so I’m grateful for them taking the time to deal with me! Lol

Terrible customer service. They don't care about their members and their rules are not consistent. I got charged interest because my payment wasn't posted on my due date which happened to fall on a weekend even though I put the payment through the day beforeIt was due (Friday). So basically if you're due date falls on the weekend you have to make sure you pay it 3days advance because they don't care about when you put the payment through just when its posted. They stated that I was late so that's why the interest was charged on my account but yet they didn't charge me a late fee... Interesting I wonder why they didn't charge me a late fee? Very inconsistent and makes no sense to me at all. When I said I was going to cancel they said "okay no problem, I'll send you the form". Once I pay my balance off no more credit card for me, good riddance. Also this is not the first issue I've had with them this was just the final straw.

My whole family have been members since the 80’s when it was still HLR. Back then the service was wonderful at no charge. Now, the service is still good but they charge for every little request.I only keep Proponent for sentimental reasons since I’ve been with them for over 30 years… disappointing. Time to move on ….

Why oh why are you still closed? I can sit in a theatre audience, schools are open, all other banks are open, but I can’t walk into your lobby for 4 minutes. Ridiculous. Way to make it super hard for customers! Vaccine your employees, don a mask, and open up your credit union. It’s time.

Proponent has been a few resource for me throughout the yrs. I just prefer a more sample way on how to bank with them it’s limited locations and more effective website would be great. I not looking for offers they us usps services for that. And the hotline is not great as well

I have been a member at this bank since 1996. Up until a few years ago, the service was excellent! I had multiple accounts and even referred many family members. Most recently, my son was a victim of fraud. It’s been over 4 months and the investigation has yet to be resolved despite the numerous times that I’ve followed up. The branch manager doesn’t respond to emails or calls. When you speak with a rep, they aren’t able to see or provide any information on the account. I asked to speak to the President of the bank and was mysteriously disconnected. Do not bank here!

Just received a statement and they are charging $10.00 a month for inactivity..$30.00 deducted from our measly account. I will be closing my account ASAP. We were never informed of such a charge when we opened it.
