Never again will I get my taxes done at any H&R Block. I was mislead and treated disrespectfully. Pooja was supposed to be my tax expert but I could hv easily done a better job and not be charged over $300.00. Unbelievable

I give 1 star because Gmaps does not allow negative stars in a review. For the last 3 years I have done my moderately complex personal taxes at this location using the same HRB agent Pooja Shirodkar.
It says on her card that she is a "Master Tax Advisor", but I very much doubt that. All I know is she made a mistake on my IT-203 New York income tax filing, but I did not catch it and mistakenly signed the return. Later when I got home I realized why my tax return was costing me $8000 dollars instead of $1600 like I expected.
I called Pooja on the phone and set a follow up meeting and brought documentation proving the error. I was expecting to file a correction IT-203X. But instead I was informed by Pooja that her manager will not authorize me correcting my taxes !!
What does the manager have to do with it ? It's my tax return I am the one expected to pay $8000 to NYS when I really owe $1600!
For some reason her manager needs to approve allowing me to file an IT-203X electronically, and she spoke with her manager supposedly and for whatever reason her manager said no. I don't know why because she could not explain it. Also at no point did anyone offer to refund the $300 dollars I paid for the NYS filing.
These people are incompetent and useless. Save yourself some time and money and just use Turbo Tax or if you have more complex taxes like me then get a REAL tax accountant. These guys are BOZOS!

I was bad advised, and as a consequence received an audit from the IRS. Had to pay back all education credit over 2020. When I went back, I was attended in another H&R Block, and there it was confirmed that the mistake was with H&R Block. So, I filed a complaint, because I had paid for the Peace of Mind option. Now four months further and nothing. There is no way to get hold of anyone except from one of the stores, with people that are just interested in making as much commission as possible. Worst is that also for 2021 I will have to pay back the education credit. If the advisor had given us correct advise, we would have been able to qualify. So now I am waiting for the next audit.I do not recommend this H&R Block store, because the (senior!) advisor either does not know his profession or is unethical.And in general, I think that H&R Block's peace of mind charge of $40 is a complete disgrace. You cannot get any contact to ask.

On their website, is a tool to schedule your appointment based on the availability of appointments at the location of your choice. The Ocean office's hours are listed as 9am-9pm and the scheduling tool on the H&R website for this location had several 8pm appointments. I selected one of the 8pm appointments and received a text confirmation from H&R Block however one of Ocean's site representatives called me to state that they do not have 8pm appointments. Although, I repeatedly informed him/her that this time slot is consistently listed for several days, she/he did acknowledge or apologize for the inconvenience.

Representative was hostile and did not file my state taxes correctly. I had to go to a different tax preparation company to have them amended.
