“The Max Challenge has been great for helping me to reestablish the exercise habit after significant medical issues and injuries had me sidelined. Michael, the evening instructor is a GEM! So sweet, upbeat and able to give modifications for every single exercise. He kept checking in on how I was feeling and we realized I needed to stay standing in order to accommodate post-concussion syndrome, so for every exercise, he gives me a standing version.I also really like the 45 minute class time- it’s the Goldilocks time- not too short and not too long!Just be aware that the positive vibe that is one of the Max hallmarks can include lots of high fives and sometimes I wish there was a cynical, sarcastic, “no-touching “ corner for us introverts! But it does come across as very sincere and they do follow up with text reminders to make sure you don’t give up which is helpful!”

“Just took my first class at Asbury Park CrossFit and must say that it was a pleasure! The coaches went above/beyond to make this experience great for me overall. Giulia was my coach for the work out and helped with modifications and making sure I wasn't falling behind as well as getting the most out of it. “I joined Critical Mass January 2021, right after moving to the county, with Ken as my trainer. Went out on a medical leave and then came back at some point in March or April 2021. After doing countless one on one sessions Ken convinced me to come to class during one of the CM challenges. I never did a class and was convinced it wasn't for me for the longest time, till Ken convinced me to try class. Have been going to class ever since AND continuing to do one on one with Ken. I have had 2 trainers prior to Ken and NEVER saw as much progress as I have with Ken. Completed me second, MassFest, a lifting competition for many gym members to earn PRs, cheer on peers, and truly think the group of people are inspiring to watch and makes me want to continue to do better. As for Ken, he not only inspires you but knows your strength more than you do, and pushes you to reach beyond your full potential. I have never felt stronger in my life then at this point, and this is after being athletic in high school. Ken and Critical Mass are the sole reason for that. If you are debating on a gym or debating on a trainer, search no farther than Critical Mass and Ken”

“The owners, staff, and trainers are top notch. Spacious fitness center with a ton space, great classes from aqua fit (in the amazing pool area), strength class, total body conditioning, cardio ball and a ton of others with great space that is very well utilized.
The personal trainers give you a choice of working downstairs in the gym or you can get the vip treatment upstairs away from the hustle of the gym.
This place is one of the best. Clean, affordable with great options for your membership. A top quality fitness center!”

“I go to the Monday night yoga class with Andrea. She is amazing, she is one of if not the best yoga teacher I’ve been to. She starts by asking us what we want to work on, any soreness, she’s in tune, she’s fun. If she leaves I’ll downgrade my membership. I also have done Regina’s classes too and she’s great I just can’t make Thursdays In general the equipment is clean, good, staff are always friendly, hours are good.”

“Love this place!! Such great staff who really knows how to train people. I had surgery on my right rotator cup and had very little flexibility. Since then, within the little time I been going. “My 2 year old LOVED open gym in the bitty bouncers room. It was very clean and safe for him to run around, jump, climb and explore! There were 2-3 coaches in the room that were helping the kids and making sure they were safe. I also loved that open gym was right before nap time. My son keeps asking to go back and we definitely will.”

“I go here for the pool only as the water is the only thing my joints can tolerate. Love the pool and the fact it is saline. I love going and feel good when I'm done. I'm making progress. I wish they had a larger pool, but I understand the facility is small. The front ambassadors are very friendly as well as the other staff members I see. However, I don't find their marketing manager to be friendly or helpful in the registration process. In a place like this, you'd expect your sales manager to be personable and approachable and she lacks those qualities both on the phone and in person. Sorry.”

The location is charming, clean, and easy to access. The owner was at the studio and greeted me as soon as I walked inside. He was very warm and welcoming. It always stands out when the owner of a business goes out of their way to make new clients feel at home. The instructor was experienced and engaging. I left with the biggest smile on my face!”
