Dulette however you spell her name should NOT be a manager. I went in on a Thursday afternoon to return an item. Tags intact reciept in hand and the manager refused to return my items because my Apple Pay number didn't match my debit card. IN FACT THEY DO. They had me log into my PERSONAL bank account to see the transaction. They had me go into my Apple wallet AND STILL SAID IT DIDNT MATCH. When it matched perfectly!!! Gave me hell. I came back today Saturday August 9th and guess what? The numbers matched and the return went through however they added a discount and gave me less than what I paid for back. She clearly needs the 7$ more than I do. Corporate American Eagle? What are you guys doing? This is embarrassing this is probably why you guys will continue to loose customers in garden state plaza. THE AUDACITY!!!!!

This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve come to Garden State in the last 2-3 weeks and Aerie has been closed every single time.

Came to the store for return of an Aerie item purchased online. It was a pair of leggings bought for my child that was too long and so I was hoping to exchange for the shorter version. The staff at the cashier was very kind and handled my request with professionalism. She patiently explained that their store wouldn’t have Aerie items so I wouldn’t be able to get the shorter version at this store— but that she could still initiate a return for me for the new leggings to be shipped directly to our home.
There was also a price difference the shorter version being a little cheaper plus she also kindly offered a coupon after I registered my phone number and email— so she suggested either I could find the original receipt or pick an item in the store. I could also make a donation.
Everything was handled respectfully and things were explained in a way that did not make me feel judged for having to return an item due to size. Options were provided to customer even for just a return of items.
For smoother process of return:
1) Always keep the tag on as the tag contains important information for the product
2) Keep original receipt (if bought online there should be an email receipt)
Thank you for being so thoughtful throughout the process. The kind staff made our day.

What an amazing shopping experience at American Eagle, all thanks to Rachel!
From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm smile and a great attitude. She Helped me get clothes for my trip to Hawaii. She also got me jeans that I really like and even helped me find other jeans that I was looking for, offered honest feedback on fit and style, and made the whole process feel effortless and fun. I could tell they really care about the customers and take pride in their work. I'll definitely be back because of their outstanding service. Thank you, Rachel for going above and beyond!

This place is horrible. I bought two shirts to return and the tag fell off of one. They would not take the shirt back. I brought the tag with me it just wasn’t attached.

A+++ for Darling 5/5 stars . (sorry if I mistakenly spled your name incorrectly) who worked at the fitting room over the weekend !!!! Despite it being busy , she took the time to make sure everything was okay with my sizes . However , Tara looked like she was not happy being there . Every where I went she followed me assuming that I would make a mess out of the garments . It made me feel uncomfortable.

It is 3:25 on Saturday March 22nd. I just left the American Eagle store in the Garden State Plaza after an encounter with a very rude cashier and an even more rude manager.
I was sent the wrong item and drove a half hour to get to the store to initiate a replacement. When I got to the register an angry young woman proceeded to tell me should could not help me. One can imagine my frustration after driving all of this way and waiting in line for 20 minutes. She refused to accept my return and told me to go home and call customer service. I questioned this, as anyone would, and while I clearly expressed my frustration, I did state that it was not her fault and that I was upset with the company policy. She did not care and continued her rudeness. I then asked to speak to her manager who again explained the return policy and when I told her about her employee's behavior she became aggressive towards me and blamed me even though she said she heard the entire conversation. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. It got to the point that my daughter who never speaks up began defending me vigorously to this woman, explaining how in her experience as a retail worker she has always been taught to handle customer frustration about policies with politeness and understanding. Never would she have ever treated a customer in this way. Don't shop at this location and American Eagle should certainly look into their hiring practices, not to mention return policies!!!
