We had a great experience! I had ordered the car online and the pick up was so easy. I wanted to exchange the car for a larger car and they were very accommodating. Super friendly and great service!

I’ve seen a few posts that justify a 3.4 Google rating but thankfully I didn’t have that experience. Lenny was there each of the days I stopped by and was very helpful. He helped me extend my rental as I was looking for a new car and then happily took it back early when I found one earlier than expected. He answered all questions and told me if I needed an add-on or not.

Both the in-person and online staff were understanding and communicative. Picking up the car was smooth with no issues and the vehicle was clean and in great condition. I also had to extend the rental at a certain point, and luckily the process was quick and easy. Considering how affordable both the rental price and insurance are and the experience was positive, I’ll definitely return to rent again :)

Our car battery stopped working. It was not due to error on our part. Avis had us running all over the place to return the car (that we couldn’t turn off because it wouldn’t start without a battery jump). So we went to one location, the gentleman there was rude and not nice. All I did was tell him that customer service had sent us and he told me they didn’t have any cars (the parking lot was full) and he told us we should have called roadside assistance. I told him I did call them and customer service and they both sent me to his location.
We ended up having to go back to Newark airport to get the car replaced. When we got to Newark one of the women told us to wait in line (I had to walk to the front) and stand there even though there was not another person in line. I stood there, she looked at me, looked at her phone and walked in the back. I waited a few minutes and said screw this, I walked over to the premier desk and the guy there was nicer but clueless, he told me they had no cars.
The only redemption was the fact that we were refunded a majority of our rental fees. It’s the only reason they got 2 stars. They need to hire better customer service agents. You don’t have to like your job, but at least attempt to pretend. What a bunch of jerks. I WILL never rent from Avis again.
After all the hassle I got pissed

It’s extremely annoying and unprofessional to call multiple locations and NOT ONE of them answered the phone. I am always being answered from the national call center. Customer service is always top tier at the call center and they “try” but the information provided to you is outdated. You make a reservation with the call center rep and when you get to the location, they have no vehicle. Now it’s a big problem. Which could’ve been avoided if they have employees that answer the phone at every location. Literally been calling multiple locations for a week, not one answer

Quickest check in and out I received. Car could use an external wash, but it was impeccable inside, new, and drove great. Would rent from them again

Very disappointing service by two of the workers, seems like father - son team. I rented a car a week before for 5 days and the other guy who helped was super nice and easy, not the case today.
Today, they were closing at 3pm, knowing they closing early- we decide to get there before they close. my brother and I went to pick up a car- it’s a two day rental. The elderly gentleman- told us, it has to be back by 1:41 by Monday- we asked if we can drop it off at 3pm, and we were talking and alll of the sudeen, old man said- give them back their stuff and come at 3pm. We asked y he had to be so rude and nasty- the young guy also said same thing, go somewhere else, we don’t want to serve you.
I think that’s too much of racism and nasty behavior for anyone to handle, don’t you think that ?
Avis is a good rental company, but some people can’t be this nasty.
Thanks for listening - and please raise your voice for racism. Please support me and don’t give them any business.

Service is exceptional - Hunter and the rest of the team were great. Unfortunately, stock isn’t the best and cars are often fully booked which meant it’s difficult to extend your rental or book one on short notice. Also means if you’re a high Avis status, you’re very unlikely to get an upgrade. Nevertheless, that’s not the fault of the staff!
