if I can give zero stars I would.1. Nobody answers the phone and get a return call hours later2. I dropped my boy off at 8am told I'll get a call around 1 to 3 pm3pm comes no call I called and it took 20 mins for somebody to answer to be told the Dr would call me in 40 mins 2 hours goes by and nobody contacted me so I go to Banfield and the dr lied to me. He said i called you and i said no you didn't i showed him my call log than he says i left a voice message so i check my voicemail and no new messages on my phone than he said it takes days for messages to go thru and i said that is a lie and i will find a new Dr. If he would said we were really busy but he lied to my face.

If I could put in 0 stars I would. I am writing this on my mother’s account. We pay for the wellness plan and it is about $96 EVERY MONTH!! And we do not even need visits every month. When we needed an appointment after our puppy got neutered because his stitches did not seem to be doing well. They told us the next appointment would be in 2 weeks?! Which is AFTER the check up date. Our puppy is currently sick and we have been calling and being put on hold for over 20 MINUTES!!!! 96 dollars for this is a little too crazy. We are devastated and so worried for our baby because he seems unwell. And we cannot even call. This is horrible. And our puppy is about 6 months old and is not used to other humans or dogs. And when he started barking when another dog barked at him. One front desk worker kept rolling her eyes and sneering at our puppy… this is just horrible. 0 stars. ????

I wouldn’t even give them 1 star!!!Please DO NOT take your fur babies here! This is the worst place, worst Drs. and let’s not even start with the staff!My fur baby has been sick for 4 days can’t even get an answer over the phone because nobody ever picks up, they never return your call if you leave a message. Had to go in personally and they still denied seeing my fur baby.I ended up in petco vet as a walk in they listened and took my baby right in. He was dehydrated and running a fever. The staff the Dr and Dr assistant were amazing. They treated him with so much love and care. The Doctor took the time to explain everything that was going on with my baby. He gave us medicine and iv for his hydration. I can’t even imagine coming back to BANFIELD so cold hearted and don’t care whatsoever about our fur babies! Glad to be out of here!Check out PETCO AND THE INSURANCE THEY HAVE IS AMAZING!!!BANFIELD SHOULD BE BANNED!!!!!!!!!

I visited this location because my yorkie puppy was sick. I have a serious issue with the Vet tech named Rob. He found it necessary to hand me my dog in a rude manner and state to me out loud and rudely as he walked away that my puppy needs behavioral training because he apparently tried to bite 3 people in the back. He was angry. My puppy was visibly afraid. I was confused and I tried to respond to let him know that I’ve in fact taken him to puppy training but not due to his behavior. I thought that was unnecessary and so rude for him to say. To assume that my puppy has behavior issues. I figured he would’ve learned this in his Vet tech class. If you’re poking or probing an animal. They may become STRESSED, AFRAID, even ANXIOUS!! They’re in an unfamiliar environment! Is he and the rest of the staff that handled my puppy that INCOMPETENT??! Grab a little muzzle from the back before you begin doing what your little job requires you to do and then continue. It’s common sense! Rob’s behavior made it clear to me that my puppy was not treated well. I’m done with Banfield and their subpar customer service.

This is the ONLY pet hospital that has serviced my cats their entire lives. The staff and vets are always so nice and patient, with me and my fur babies. I highly recommend this place. And, I have to all of my friends with fur babies.

Now I see why the ratings are so low for this location. I had an AWFULLY TERRIBLE experience coming here. It's funny how all the reviews keep saying that the staff is bad cuz they are. I went in here with my dog who had to get some ticks removed. There was this young heavy gay guy working who was handling my dog. He said he has to put something on his mouth cuz my dog was being "aggressive". So I said ok that's fine. And they did spot the ticks on him so when they went inside, that guy came out and embarrassed me and yelling and insulting my dog in front of everyone about his behavior. So I spoke to this other skinny white girl working at the front and she explained to me that the ticks weren't found on my dog which was strange cuz they told me they do see ticks on him. And my dog was shaking as if something had happened to me dog like as if they hit him inside so I called in and spoke to see the footage to the manager who had NEVER RETURNED my call even though she had said she would check the cameras and call me back. I will NEVER ever go back to this place in my life again with such awful staff working here! Horrible experience!!!! Do not go to this Banfield but the Carlsdat and Garfield locations have the BEST STAFF I've ever seen!

Words can not explain how unprofessional the people that they have working down there are. I had called four months prior to set up an appointment in order to have my dog neutered, they explained to me that the surgeon was on maternity leave till July. Fine, I waited till August and called again to set up the appointment once more.They told me that I had to come down for consultation first, which of course cost an additional fee. Ok so I took off from work, arrived for the appointment, to which they explained to me now that I had to take the dog to their Garfield location in two weeks time for the original consultation appointment. I asked them why they didn't tell me this in the first place, why am I down here then?, You told me to come down to this location. No Answer other then a response of sorry...In addition the male orderly of whom was working there was extremely nasty to me the whole time, not to mention the woman behind the counter who was there speaking with broken english.Apparently she got very upset when I mentioned that I couldn't understand what she was talking about, which isn't my fault.There were other issues as well, but life is too short for me to go into detail. However, just as a point of reference I would never recommend bringing a pet down there for anything what so everdue to thier incompetence, this was just a total waste of my time.

Terrible customer service! I have been a longtime customer of banfield and took all my pets due to their Wellness plan offered but never again! I took my pet to get his daily check up in which the doctor told me I’d need to renew my optimum wellness plan early to receive a shot if I wanted it that day or I’d have to pay for the single shot. I agreed with no problem and even bought $300 or medications; anything for my pet! Unfortunately my pet passed away later that exact day after going into anaphylaxis shock. I nowhere Blaimed banfield for this but upon reaching out to them about the remainder of the plan benefits being credited they stated that I was not entitled to any type of refund and billed everything to that new plan renewal. I am now paying for benefits my dog didn’t even receive; shots he didn’t get and visits he didn’t make. I even reached out to see if there was a way to use the benefits on another dog of mine but of course the plan isn’t transferable. Any excuse to not give a customer their money back.

If I could give it zero stars or a negative number, I would. Dr. Segal is the worst vet I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. After being put in a room for over 40 minutes after my 13 year old dog who gets incredibly anxious and struggles to breath was already seen by him....Dr. Segal had to be told several times to please come out an talk to me. Then he proceeded to pass by me in the waiting room and go straight to the men's room (@ 50 minutes of waiting). Dr. Segal then proceeded to go over my dog's examination results in the waiting room at the top of his voice. To top it all off, none of the managing staff was willing to come and talk to me...even after witnessing with their own eyes the mistreatment. The only person with the decency to help me was a young lady by the name of Denny. I just canceled her Wellness plan. I am also looking for a new Vet.

The Secaucus location is better is you must use Banfield, but I’d advise to sign your pet up for a different service, they’re constantly running late or do not know what is going on, there is always someone sitting around or flirting with someone else while people sit waiting. Secaucus is the way to go if you MUST use Banfield, but my advice is to use another service all together.

Yesterday, we had to euthanize our dog. We have been taking her there for regular check ups. She suddenly stopped eating last week and according to the vet, she was in late stage kidney failure and that she had been in kidney failure for years. Never did they ever tell me anything was wrong with her blood work. Suddenly losing a pet like that from a preventable disease is heart breaking.
