I ordered a watch from Mavado Group Inc./Mavado Company Store and paid $30 for overnight delivery. It showed up three days later. When I contacted customer service, they flat-out refused to refund the shipping fee—no apology, no explanation, nothing.
This company is dishonest and completely uninterested in making things right once they have your money. Charging for a service they don’t deliver and then refusing to issue a refund is borderline fraud. I’ll never buy from them again, and I recommend others stay far away unless you enjoy being ripped off.

*Terribly* inconvenient. Customers were once able to drop off/pick up in person. While this understandably changed during Covid, they have NOT resumed that level of service. I was in the neighborhood and wanted to hand in my watch for tune up service and they refused to accept it - or even open the door. Are horologists even on site? It's a royal PITA to ship a watch! AND their guidelines say don't use the original box? How else are we to assure it will arrive safely? Especially insulting when I was literally standing right there in the (locked) lobby. Not customer oriented. In a world where the demographic for luxury watches is shrinking because everyone is wearing an Apple smartwatch, you'd think they would step up their service to secure their customers.

Worst new watch buying experience.. bought a new $1300 watch from Kay Jewelers in July 2020 - Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus .. watch stopped working after 2 months and was fixed by Movado /Kay stores in 8 months ..watch stopped working next day and ever since it’s with Kay Jewelers/ Movado for further fixing where they don’t have the parts & waiting .. in one year I had the watch for 2 months & now they are Changing parts as if I bought refurbished watch .. Kay Jewelers/ Movado dont have courtesy to give me the new watch .. dont but watch from Movado and Kay Jewelers, they are rude & don’t care about people money or time ..

Ugh. All look and little substance. Yes, they look fantastic but I had nothing but problems with two different watches. The first one was a digital that was so bad they stopped making it. They allowed me to trade it for a Movado Bold. Another misfire. The crystal sits on top of the watch with no molding over it. One drop and it shatters. A watch that expensive should not break just from the normal act of losing your grip when removing it or putting it on. You then have to send it to their repair facility or void the warranty. There's only one location for this and it's in NJ. They actuallly wanted to charge me for a new crystal! I wrote them and said that their watch was defective from the start (refer to previous comment about price for durability). They finally approved the free repair. I had it for a while longer before it just stopped working. They sent me a new one again. That one lasted a few years until it now just keeps losing time as it gets slower. The nerve to charge so much for watches that have that many problems is absurd. In short: Look = 10, quality = 5
Oh, and as another reviewer stated: the ONE repair facility is in NJ and the amount of time it takes for them to log in your order, complete the repair, and return it is about a month. AWFUL.

I have never owned a Movado watch but have admired them from a far. I recently received a Movado connect smart watch as a gift. I was extremely excited and happy to finally own one. I wore the watch for a few weeks and noticed that the battery would drain quickly. The watch would not even last me one full work day. I contacted Movado two weeks ago to obtain a replacement or fix this issue. They instructed me to mail in the watch to New Jersey (at my own expense). Movado does not have any repair facilities that can make repairs on smart watches other than in NJ. And so I waited...a week later I call them and find out they received the watch but it takes several days for it to be logged in and diagnosed. Fast forward a week later I receive an email from Movado stating they will replace the battery on the watch and return it to me under warranty. Yes I would think so since the watch is 6 weeks old. In speaking with the representative he informs me that it will be another week before the watch will be mailed out. We are now 3 weeks into the process of fixing my watch. We will see if the problem was fixed if and when I receive my watch. What a dysfunctional system for conducting warranty repairs. After longing for a Movado watch for so long it turns out I was missing nothing. Never again. Do yourselves a favor and choose another company.

I absolutely love the movado watches , however I recommend anyone from purchasing this brand . As you read other low reviews believe it ...a simple battery change takes 3 weeks to fx and I bought it twice in 20 months . Since the first one was in repair in moonachie New Jersey and I was traveling for business I bought another one . They charged me $350 just to change the battery and strap . Dont believe Macy's as they promise you all those warranties about them replacing battery . They will simply tell you to contact Movado . Two watches in one year either the strap breaks or the battery dies .
The only good thing is it is an elegant attractive watch and scratch resistant .
Looks can be deceiving ....

Horrible service, I purchased a watch as a Christmas present for my wife It stopped working the day after I bought it. I had to pay for shipping because the store was unable to fix it. Mind you this is a brand new & $@%ing watch!! Nothing but clowns at customer service were rude and ignorant. When it came time to ship the watch back, they refused to remove the signature required and basically told me to end my vacation with my wife early in order to sign for the package rather than have FedEx leave it at the door. Never will I shop at this store again

Wow!!! Absolutely completely impressed by my watch repair. My watch was received at Movado on January 16th and by the 29th I had my watch back on my hand looking brand new again. I live in Florida so I was expecting a much longer turnaround time, so to have my watch back on my hand two weeks after they received is very nice. I had the crystal Sapphire replaced and a complete latch replacement and not only was I impressed with the turnaround time but the repair cost was very very reasonable.

I wear the watch every day; only take it off for showering and for sleeping
These are my observations during the first 12 months after product purchase:
1. The sapphire glass is VERY scratch resistant.
NOT a single scratch, even though the watch is exposed to yard work and to metal parts in a stamping plant.
2. The metal wrist band does show scratches, which is acceptable, because I don't take any precaution to protect the watch in tough environments.
3. The black paint of the numbers on the rotating bezel came off, for the same reason, see item 2.
4. I went swimming and snorkeling: no problems at all
The design of the watch is simple, but beautiful:
-The housing is slim
-The clock face has a unique appearance without sacrificing functionality.
-The wrist band is out of sturdy, stainless steel, beautifully manufactured.
Update: after less than 4 years, the drive/movement broke. I sent the watch in to the official Movado repair service. Outcome: wasted $30 on shipping because Movado declined to repair/replace the drive at no charge. Movado stood not behind their product. I expect a Swiss watch of this price to last at least 20 years. The drive is not subject to wear, because it is Quartz and not mechanical. As a teenager I owned a $10 watch; it lasted 13 years. I strongly recommend NOT to buy Movoda watches - the drive breaks prematurely and the company does NOT stand behind

Awful! Took my watch in for a simple battery change. It took over a week and half for them to provide an estimate for the repair. The estimate was $180! The "mandatory" repair included replacing the movement and all other pieces that were still functioning fine "to ensure waterproofing" and fixing all the scratches. I just wanted a new battery. I declined the repair since paying $180 for a new battery seemed crazy. It then took another week to get my watch returned (and I even went to pick it up!)
