Everyone complains about poor service but I'd like to highlight some exceptionally good service.On November 4 I went to the Paramus NJ store to purchase foam insulation boards and rent a vehicle to transport them. First I signed up for the rental then went to purchase the product. I faced disappointment when the boards were not in the location they were supposed to be and store staff had to locate and them and bring them down from a high shelf. Then I had to check out the very bulky items. The process took time and I was on the rental clock. But what could have been a frustrating experience was turned pleasant by the friendly and helpful store staff. I was especially impressed with the tool/vehicle rental staff who noticed the purchase delay and reset the rental clock before I even asked (I was told it is policy to allow consideration for purchase time but the staff tracked it without me having to make a fuss). Now it looks like I'll need to purchase a dishwasher soon. Paramus HD is now #1 on my shopping list!(BTW I got an email for the survey but I was busy, and before I had a chance to fill it in, the survey expired. Seems to expire after 7 days - not enough time for people busy with their projects!)

My fiancé and I just left this location. We went up to the counter for him to exchange one of his husky tools. The lady, Rene, had a horrible Attitude about us exchanging this tool. She made it feel as if we were personally offending her. My fiancé went to go get the new tool and there was a man behind me so I went to get the tool off the counter so she could help him and she said with a nasty and accusatory tone that " IT can STAY there" idk who she thinks she is but she needs an attitude adjustment. If you want real customer service go to the mahwah location.

Ordered materials online on Thursday for Friday delivery. Was to receive a call, did not. I was traveling. Called Saturday, said was delivered. Online said it was not. I was connected to the store and was told the order was not delivered as the delivery company couldn't figure out how to put it on a truck because it was loaded on a pallet. This was not a large order, 10 8' 6 X 6's and some hardware! They wanted to set delivery for the following Wednesday, contractor begins Monday!! Canceled the Home Depot order.Home Depot contacted me. they had someone from the store load a truck and deliver the items today. thank you!

PROS: This Home Depot was very well organized and the staff was very friendly to me. Prices are good, fully in stock, and clean too. Lots of parking and quick serviceCONS: I saw one supervisor yelling at this older employee at the top of his lungs. Very embarrassing for the worker and awkward for the crowd of customers around.OVERALL: As a customer I like it here, but the supervisor must treat his employees better. He was in his 30s with black hair.

Went to Home Depot in Paramus NJ at about 8pm on Thursday Aug 18th. I has asked the man working at the paint desk a simple question and it was like I was asking him to loan me money... I asked specifically what kind of paint would be best to cover a small crack line in a ceiling and he replied without even looking at me " you would obviously use ceiling paint, it's over there" Your business only exists because of customers... treat them better...

Store is an absolute mess. You can't push a cart down any aisle without having to stop and move wood pallets full of items or orders.. might as well give me an orange apron since I'm "working" every time I have to shop this store. Management is clearly lacking here! I left a full cart behind because I couldn't even get back through the aisles to get to the checkout.

My husband and I went to the Paramus location to check out mini freezers. There was a old man sitting in the appliance section. Great. Not!! I asked him a few questions. OMG. IT WAS LIKE I WAS ASKING HIM FOR A KIDNEY. He was surely without a doubt that nastiest man I have ever met. I will never go back there. Never never never. This old man can kiss my butt as I walk out and head to LOWES. My 89 yr old father told me not to go there. From now on I will listen to my dad. Home Depot your going down hill.

ONLINE-ORDER PICKUP REVIEW: "What is the likelihood of you recommending Home Depot's In-Store Pickup service to a friend or colleague?" Just finished the survey, and the Paramus store got all 10s from me. So I figure I'd give a shout out here on Yelp. I needed two items and placed an order for pick up after work. I hardly waited at the customer service desk/online order pickup area before a rep asked me if I needed assistance ('Beau' on apron). He was friendly and polite when he entered my order number into the system. My stuff was already ready and right there, just like my email notification said it would be. I was out of there under 10 minutes. I definitely SAVED TIME ordering online - this a pretty large store and it would have taken me longer if I grabbed products from the aisles and went through self-service. I'd recommend this store if you have online-order pickup for sure.

After wasting 45 minutes in Hackensack - we needed some wire cut and 3 staff told us they would get someone- we walked out and went to Paramus where we were in and out in 15 minutes and even got some advice for our project. If you are thinking of Hackensack - keep driving it's quicker to keep going to Paramus.

The customer service here absolutely TERRIBLE especially when it comes to vinyl floor installation project. Here is a brief summary of chain events. Measurement guy came and did measurements- i asked some questions for consultation and he was clueless stating he is only here to make measurements and have an estimate quote. Ok. I received the quote estimate and was okay to proceed forward. Day of installation, the install guy said that there is additional work to be done that was not mentioned on my estimate quote adding the cost value to an additional estimate of about 1.7k for material and labor. They will play tricks on you just to win your business and add costs to it at the end. Not to mention how the delivery schedule was thrown off with backordered materials and things not being delivered completely as stated on the delivery confirmation. Going into the store to make my complaints and issues known, the associates are rude and not kind to work with either. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT DO ANY OF YOUR FLOORING PROJECTS. FIND REAL PROFESSIONALS WHO CAN ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS AND GET THE JOB DONE EFFICIENTLY.

I will never purchase a major product from Home Depot ever again. And that is a strong statement. I have had a washer and dryer in my living room for the last month and I am either scheduled for delivery and they never come or there is an issue that "suddenly" comes up and they cannot install it. What a shame. Home Depot needs to do better for such a major store system.
