“This is an extremely dependable Avis/Budget location. The operator, Lenny, and his team are extremely hands-on. My cars are always ready, clean, and ready to go. In any situation where I had concerns about my vehicle, they were always addressed and often times I received a different vehicle for greater peace of mind. There are other Avis locations closer to me, but I trust them and go out of my way so I know I will have a great experience. This is the difference when it comes to independently run, local shops.
Also, if I can make a comment about others' posts about discourteous customer service, everyone has a right to their opinion (except keep the unkind personal comments to yourself). It is a very active location and there are cars coming in and out regularly. A parking lot full of cars does not automatically mean they are available, as they could be reserved already. That's not on Lenny and his team. And they cannot control the condition of the cars when they are returned, which means they will not put an unsafe or unsatisfactory vehicle back into circulation (like so often happens at corporate, airport locations). I want to deal with an operator like that. I would always choose to deal with a straight shooter vs someone trying to manage me, but that's just me.”

“I rented a truck. It was a truck that was in great fantastic condition. Maybe 2 years old. That's one thing I like about Penske. Also, I do not recommend bringing a dog, Lucas found his spot in the middle in between the seats. He didn't go on the long trip with me. He just went and picked the truck up.”

“I wish I could give this location a much higher rating! After experiencing a rough few days with my whole family getting sick and my vehicle breaking down on the way to RI right after Christmas, this location was beyond exceptional with helping me out and getting me on my way. I forgot to get the gentleman's name that assisted me but he was patient, kind, and understanding even though I felt like I was through hell and back. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area even if it's just to say hello. They truly set the the example of what customer service is.”

I was very hesitate on booking with Budget when I went on a business trip over the weekend due to the horrible reviews. So I decided to not book and went to the front desk when I arrived. Unfortunately they didn’t have any cars so I ended up booking with hertz. But it doesn’t end there.
For my flight back home, it ended up getting canceled, leaving me stranded at the airport. I was able to find a flight back home from Charlotte so I ended up booking the flight and went quickly to the rental desk. I went straight to the Budget desk because I know they have the lowest rates and I spoke to Austin. I asked him if he had any cars that I can take to the Charlotte airport and he said they had many. He allowed me to book online to get a better rate and even upgraded me at no cost from a coupe to a suv. I was able to get to Charlotte within 70 minutes and to my surprise I was only charged for the hourly rate, instead of the daily rate, a significantly lower cost.
All the negative reviews are due to no cars or no one at the front desk. The airport just moved all the rental agencies to one central location and all of the agencies have a lot more cars. So hopefully those issues have been resolved.
Also word of advice, don’t use a third party company to book your rental. Just book it straight online on the agency’s website. It’s the lowest price and will ensure you will get a car.
