I had one of the most disappointing salon experiences I’ve ever had at the Ulta Beauty in Paramus Park.
My daughter and I went in for up-dos for a wedding. At checkout, we were shocked to be charged an extra $45 each just to have our hair straightened before being put into the up-do. This was never explained or disclosed ahead of time. If that was a requirement for the style, it should have been clearly communicated. Paying $90 total just to straighten hair before an up-do is ridiculous when no one gave us that information.
To make things worse, one of my false eyelashes came off during the wedding ceremony after I had paid for the lashes and for them to be professionally applied. That was embarrassing and completely unacceptable for a special event.
I contacted customer service. A manager called me once and left a voicemail. I returned the call three times that same day and was placed on hold each time, but never received a call back. It has now been over two weeks with no follow-up and no resolution.
Between the surprise charges, the failed service, and the total lack of accountability afterward, this location has shown extremely poor customer care. I would not trust this store for any important event.

Olama did an amazing job on my hair! The cut brought my hair back to life, and it perfectly complements my color. I couldn’t be happier with the result everything looks fresh, healthy, and beautifully balanced. Highly recommend!

I got my eyebrows done today by Natalya and she did an amazing job! The entire experience was incredibly relaxing, and I was beyond pleased with the end results. I honestly didn’t expect such a spa-like treatment just for my eyebrows. Natalya was professional, attentive, and made me feel completely at ease. I’ll definitely be booking all my future appointments with her

Do not get a male haircut here; the woman who cut my hair didn’t know what she was doing and had to ask for help from another person. She also didn’t follow the picture I told her I wanted my hair to look like at all, she kept shortening and shortening my hair to make up for her mistakes.

ZERO STARS !!!!!
I had a terrible experience with my ULTA makeup appointment. The products used felt very cheap, and nothing seemed properly clean or sanitized. The brushes were so rough they actually scratched my face and eyes. Honestly, I could have done a much better job myself with higher-quality and cleaner products.
Save your money and stay far, far away from getting makeup services done at ULTA. Not worth it at all.

Absolutely love my hair! Olama did such an amazing job with my highlights and cut — the color is perfect and looks so natural. She really listened to what I wanted and made great suggestions. My hair feels so fresh and healthy, and I’ve gotten so many compliments already! Totally recommend if you’re looking for someone who really knows their stuff.

I went in here around 11 AM 10/20/25 looking to purchase a travel size perfume. This girl/idk what gender they are awkwardly walked up to me and unenthusiastically asked me if I needed help with anything, in which I responded “yeah it would be great if you could get this item out.” Then they got it out and had the audacity, “okay are you done shopping because I’m going to put this up front for you” acting like I had intentions to walk out the door with it.
First of all, I am a self-respecting person with a career just because I come in here when I’m looking lowkey doesn’t warrant being treated like I’m going to steal. I have never had such an unpleasant experience in an Ulta. I was about to give you guys my money but ultimately decided not to because of being treated like a thief.
Update: I went to SEPHORA and bought the same thing I intended to buy and they didn’t tell me that they’ll “hold it behind the counter for me” or act like I was gonna steal.

I spend almost 200 $ but result is so bad and if you are new customer then the result is more worst .I spend 200$ there but service is so bad and the product they used even not work for 1 day. They suggest me wash my hair after 24 hour but after wash only I understand why because with a single wash all hair color and styling gone . So result is zero

Had an appointment for formal application for a wedding and walked out looking like a total mess. My appointment was at 1:15, I was taken at 1:25 and the “makeup artist” was finished by 1:50 for an appointment that’s supposed to take up to an hour. The whole thing felt rushed. I felt grimy and dirty with the makeup and tools she used on my face. There was no form of consultation in the beginning to ask me what type of skin I had or what look I wanted to achieve. It’s safe to say her vision was no where near my vision. I told her my dress was a coral color and she tried to put a bright orange lip on me without asking and I told her to take it off. The eyelashes she put on me are curling off and the top liner just stops right in the middle of my eye. I look ridiculous and feel like I just completely wasted $100 on this awful make up application.
