Pros:
1. The shop is clean and organized.
2. There is a single point of contact, the owner Brad.
3. Competitive pricing.
4. Great reviews on Google (4.6 rating)
5. The truck shifts gears properly after a transmission replacement.
Cons:
1. The repair cost was marked up by 10% from the initial quote until the repair was underway.
2. The plan was to rebuild the existing transmission, but it was swapped with another transmission. Even at the time of pickup, Brad showed an invoice of parts replaced on the existing transmission.
3. Upon returning home, it was discovered that the transmission was not the original but a rebuilt replacement.
It's unclear why Brad was dishonest about the above. The 10% increase was explained as due to rising parts costs, but if the intention was to swap with one on the shelf, this should not apply. Additionally, Brad continued to make me believe he rebuilt the existing transmission, even up to the time of pickup, explaining what parts were worn and providing an invoice of the parts replaced. He mentioned parts such as a new sunshell, separator plate (due to a worn check ball), new clutches, and steels, which was very convincing and believable.
When confronted the following day, Brad finally owned up to swapping the transmission with one on the shelf, stating that the original was smoked. This is a common problem, and a complete rebuild would bring the transmission back to operation. Why couldn't he have told me that at the time of pickup instead of making up such an elaborate story?
Brad will falsely claim that there was confusion as to replacing my transmission vs. rebuilding my existing one - What's so difficult to confuse? When I stated that I put markings on my existing transmission, he ended the conversation and hung up the phone.
With everything that went down, my big concern now is how many miles may be on this replacement transmission and whether it was ever rebuilt before being installed in my truck.
I'm all about honesty, and none of this sits well with me.

Never again… Completely untrustworthy. Brad, the owner, took advantage of a repeat customer just for a quick buck, lied about the services he provided, despite multiple attempts to right his wrongs. I would strongly advise going elsewhere if you want reliable service.

Where do I begin?I'll keep this short and simple.1. Honesty2. Integrity3. CommunicationWhen dealing w/ mechanics all 3 of those needs are never met or hardly ever met.3.5 Altima Coupe that needed Transmission work done.The owner is straight forward and a wonderful person to talk to about anything related to your cars work. W/ basic common sense you'll see what a hard working mechanic he is, a mechanic not out for money but takes your safety into consideration as well. Parts take time, as we all know if you want good work done it takes diligence. Looking for a quick fix take it to mavis or pepboys, they'll be happy to keep milking you while doing the bare minimum to keep you coming back.

Brad, the owner, did an incredible job on my truck’s transmission. The Ford dealer told me I needed to replace the transmission because of some codes that were coming up. I said why the truck still runs fine. So I took it to tri county. Brad‘s team was able to replace just a few parts and get it back up and running affordably.

It was a pleasure having Tri County Transmisson repair my car. Brad, the owner, was prompt and courteous in responding to my initial call on a Tuesday about my transmission problem. I explained that I was a Crossing Guard in town and needed whatever was wrong fixed as quickly as possible to be able to get to and from work. He took my car right away and worked overtime to diagnose the exact problem. He then kept me informed of his progress and repaired a differential and transmission leak in just 3 days. I had my transmission done at Tri-County Transmission & Automotive. Brad was a pleasure to work with. He was very informative of the problem and kept me up to date as to when the car would be done. He is a highly skilled technician and I would recommend him for any car issues you may have. Also his prices were very fair.
