First off I was not aware that Robert's Auto shop was under new ownership. However I gave them a chance since I believed I was quoted a reasonable price. I was pleased with the work but when it came time for final payment I was told I'd have to pay sales tax for using my card, which I had already done when I made the initial deposit ( that's 2x sales tax was applied to one transaction). Then after reviewing my account. I noticed even more money had been taken out, so I called the owners son back and inquired about the additional money that was taken out of my account. His response to me was " OH ,that's the 4% you have to pay the credit card company for using the machine!"). I told him thats not how you do business and that he was double dipping. Credit card machines are not the customers responsibility, the owner of the establishment is the one responsible to pay the credit card company. Needless to say nothing was rectified but I did request a new receipt for the money that was actually debited. Originally I was given a receipt for the price originally quoted to me. Poor communication and customer service.

This business is atrocious, particularly their customer service at the front desk. I took my car for an estimate. They opened the hood in front of me and their professional took the time to look at what's wrong. They gave me a price of $1300 to fix the car, I agreed, and that was that. Two weeks later, when I had to pick up my car, they informed me they had to order a new part and now the price is almost $500 MORE than what was agreed upon. When I refused to pay the extra amount since I never approved this new part, they refused to give me my car. The police was involved (I learned from the police officers that by law they have to release the car) and the whole situation was an absolute nightmare ! After much back and forth, a $1500 compromise was settled, and I drove away in my car with much paranoia and just a bad feeling.Truth be told, we are talking about a 20 years old car, where this expense was unnecessary, especially because it wasn't safety related. If I knew it was going to cost me this much, I might have left it unfixed, and just invested the money in a downpayment for a new car. The whole experience was just so unpleasant. A good business would've taken the hit to keep the customer happy, but instead they chose to lose customers. I am writing it in plural because my father brought two of his cars previously to this place (he's never going back) and if I was satisfied with the experience, I would rave about them to other family and friends.I wouldn't give this place any stars, the way I was treated, and how the situation escalated. There are other auto shops next door to try out if you're desperate.

Took my car to get fixed which they did a poor job in fixing and painting my bumperAnd fender. I called to express my concerns and the owner Robert rudely raised his voice upset stating why am I complaining and hung up the phone. He is unprofessional and I really dont recommend this establishment. Will never return.

Took my 2020 Ford Explorer for a dent quote..girl at the front desk had me wait 10 mins while she was on a personal call...and still while on her personal phone call she went and looked at the small dent I went in for a quote and without examining the dent she quoted me at $500I took my car to King of Dents in Clifton and got the Dent fixed for $150This place will rip u off if you don't do your research

I got an estimate on some bodywork on an Audi A6 when I lived in Rutherford NJ Now mind you, this was a "friend" of my sisters', his cost to fix the fender was $1800.00. I had some mechanic friends across the street from Robert's Auto Body. They gave me an estimate of $500 dollars, WOW! what a difference! When I came to pick up the car, Mr. ******* said, the estimate you got was wrong, we didn't need a new fender, so we just pounded it out and it's only $300.00!! Do you want to talk about honesty? I am highly impressed with this Auto body shop! Prices are amazing and the level of service and quality is amazing. I went to different shops to get estimates not only were they super rude but also highly over priced! This place had my car done in one day! one day! Thank you so much to the friendly staff and front counter girl who helped me with also finding other services for my car will definitely be referring this place to everyone I know.
