“On 1/2/26, we noticed that our five-year-old dog, Lexi, wasn’t herself and that something seemed off. We took her to our veterinarian at Willowbrook Animal Hospital in Fairfield, NJ, where she was seen by Dr. Ilka Bott-Wentworth (Dr. BW). After examining Lexi, Dr. BW told us that she had injured her back. She prescribed medication and advised us to monitor her closely.
By 1/6/26, we noticed that Lexi had begun dragging her back right paw. We immediately reached out to Dr. BW, who recommended that we take her to Eclipse Emergency Hospital. Throughout this time, Dr. BW constantly checked on Lexi and truly went above and beyond her duties as a veterinarian. She also communicated with Eclipse Hospital and checked on Lexi. Dr. BW spoke with the doctors there to see how she was doing.
I would highly recommend our veterinarian, Dr. Ilka Bott-Wentworth. If it weren’t for her quick action and dedication, Lexi could have been paralyzed if we had waited. The care and love she showed Lexi were truly above and beyond expectations. We will forever be indebted to Dr. BW. ?”

“Physical therapy dept with Tim was amazing. My Angel went 3 x aweek, because she couldn't walk with her back legs. We did water therapy and lazer treatments. Everyone there was outstanding. “Ramapo Valley Animal Hospital has been such a comfort to our family during a very difficult time. Our dog fought IMHA for three weeks, and throughout that battle Dr. Katara(especially) and the entire staff were consistently kind, patient, and compassionate.
They took the time to explain what was happening and what each step meant in a way we could actually understand. Even when the situation was heartbreaking, they treated our dog with so much care and dignity, and they treated us with empathy and respect as we tried to make the best decisions we could. Saying goodbye on January 5 was devastating, but the compassion and warmth we were shown made an unbearable day a little more manageable. “Our dog, Niklaus, was a patient of Dr. Fisher’s until we moved 3 hours away, and we cannot find a vet who can hold a candle to Dr. Fisher and his staff! From the time you step into the office, you know that your fur baby is being well-cared for. The lovely women at the front desk are so patient on the phone and make the check-in process much less stressful, especially for dogs with high anxiety like ours. Mike, the vet tech, and Dr. Fisher get right on the floor to ease your pup’s fears, and handle your fur baby with such care and compassion. Dr. Fisher is knowledgeable not just in traditional western medicine, but he also explores eastern and holistic routes to treat the cause of the issue. Going to the vet is not a pleasant experience for any animal, but Dr. Fisher’s way of approaching our pup with such care and tenderness helped to lessen his anxiety and make the process less stressful for both Niklaus and us. Dr. Fisher and his team are angels, and the world needs more people like this! You can’t go wrong with Hillsdale Animal Hospital!”
