Athena in the salon is ACE! She cut my daughter’s hair a couple weeks ago and it’s the best cut she’s ever had. When my daughter decided she wanted purple highlights we went back to Athena because we loved her so much. Next time I need a cut or color I’ll be booking with Athena.

Listen… if I could give more stars, I would. I went in today, literally not that long ago. I’m horrible at remembering to write reviews. But I needed to promptly. Because this store deserves it. I went in looking for a vanilla musk perfume/fragrance that I don’t believe they carry anymore. I tried several other ones prior to that, but wanted something that people would actually notice the scent. The staff was super helpful, but I got very educated today on fragrances, perfumes, etc. Christof (spelling?) was so incredibly informative and patient. I was educated on roughly how long to wait for different times of the notes, proper application (especially to not impact the fragrance). Which I never did. And thus, never really found many fragrances I enjoyed. Also, how to get the most time for a fragrance to last. The cashier I had during checkout was friendly and even said she has, and loves one of the fragrances I picked. Which is making me very eager to try them. Thank you so much for all of your help, and I can’t wait to send people your way, as well as have more of an appreciation for different scents. 😁

Gabe was FANTASTIC! Truly great customer service and very nice to speak with. He gave awesome recommendations and let us know what worked and what to avoid. He’s definitely a great asset to this location!!

Navigating the store to locate specific items proved challenging. Despite encountering several employees, I did not receive assistance until I approached the cashier. The cashier's exceptional customer service and willingness to offer support were greatly appreciated.

I love shopping here. It's where I get all the themed makeup and ColourPop. Most of all, it's a store that actually sells makeup where I don't have to worry about painful rashes and breakouts anymore. Ulta is the only place I get my makeup now, thanks to my sister.

Another great cut and color from Katee. I have been going to Katee for years for my hair. She listens to my sometimes crazy ideas for color/style and advises me on what would work best for my hair type. I always receive many compliments on her work!

Only thing I hate about Ulta. Is you want everyone to order online in order to get the best deals. You will be closing stores if you don't start offering deals on store. I like to go into a store to look around. Also get my hair done at Ulta. If you close brick and mortar, how will you have a salon?? If you continue to insist on online orders, your sure should be a little more user friendly!!

The representatives here are extremely knowledgeable about their product. They are very helpful in guiding you to what you're looking for or helping you find replacemeant if that's what you need. Recently I didn't want to spend $27 for my IT Cosmetics mascara, The representative was extremely helpful in helping me find a comparable alternative. I'm not in love with the product but it is better than what I've previously used such as Cover Girl & Mabelline. The representative was really cool & fun to talk to! That's important because I wanted an alternative product and had no idea what to get and only knew what I didn't want. I hope he is there the next time I need assistance!

I want to preface this by saying I've never written a review like this before but I want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else, especially someone who wouldn't speak up after paying for an unacceptable service. Over the weekend I booked a last minute appointment with a master stylist for a haircut at the salon. I had long hair, and wanted a shorter length with long layers. The stylist was friendly and talkative, asked me where I parted my hair, though added that the way she would cut the hair will allow for a part on any side - this is important later on because I didn't bring it up or ask for that; I only ever part my hair on one side. She styled it very differently than I would (blow out, super flouncy) which looking back now I think was to hide the mistake. I got home, washed my hair, and styled it the way I would. I IMMEDIATELY noticed a huge mistake. It was like I had 2 different haircuts at the same time. One side seemed okay, but the other looked like a mullet. There was no blending, no gradual length change...just a 3 inch dramatic drop from one spot to the next, that spanned from the front of my face to back behind my ear. There is no way to hide this. Because my appointment was the last one on Sunday evening, the store was closed and I couldn't leave a message when I tried calling. I called first thing in the morning and no manager was in the building. I was told they'd call as soon as they came in. I waited a couple hours after the time I was told I'd get a call back, and finally decided to just call again. The manager Vickie is the one who answered, and while she wasn't unkind or rude, she definitely tried to invalidate my feelings and experience multiple times. The first thing she said was that she's never had an issue with that particular stylist when getting her hair done. Great, I'm glad she was able to cut her manager's hair properly, but that wasn't the case with me. Then she offered for me to come in and have another stylist fix it. I declined because I paid extra for a "master" stylist to cut my hair the first time, and I was no longer comfortable with anyone from that salon trying to fix it. Fast forward, I went into the store to show her my hair. She immediately told me that she has done hair for over 20 years and knows what to look for. She looked at the obvious mistake and instead of apologizing or agreeing, she said "Well, she cut it evenly. If you just part it in the middle it would be fine." I explained that it is not even, and I only part my hair one way, ever. I told her that this was explained to the stylist and that the stylist cut AND styled my hair with the correct part, so this shouldn't be an issue. On top of that, I DID try to part it in the middle at home after seeing the mistake and trying to find a way to fix it, and parting in the middle did absolutely nothing but make it look worse because it is unnatural for me. Again invalidating, she said "well it's even, but I guess I can see the disconnect." I had my young daughter with me and in no way wanted to argue so I left it at that and waited for my refund because I now need to go to another salon and attempt to get this fixed, if that's even possible. I've never complained about a haircut or service in my life, so this was difficult for me as it was, but to have a manager completely act as though she was doing me a favor by refunding me is completely unacceptable. Like I said, she wasn't unkind or mean, but she was definitely purposeful with her words and tone in such a way to make me feel like I was overreacting and there was nothing wrong with my haircut. I do not recommend the Phillipsburg Salon at Ulta, regardless of the stylist's "status."
