Charged me money to tell me what was wrong and didnt fix it. When I asked them to put on paper what was wrong with the car and give me a receipt, they refused. Sketchy business.

I wanted to share my recent experience so nobody else ends up in the same situation.
Last Thursday, I took my car to A Plus Mechanic Shop in town because a piece of plastic was hanging down and scraping the road. I asked the mechanic to just remove it. When he did, he called me over to show that the plastic had been covering serious frame damage, and he told me it wasn’t safe to drive.
So I went home, took the plates and insurance off, and started working with my bank and insurance company. They both said they needed a written statement from the mechanic confirming the frame damage.
When I went back on Monday to ask for that, the owner refused to put anything in writing — even though they had no problem taking my money and diagnosing the issue in the first place.
Now I have to pay to get the car towed somewhere else just to get the same information on paper for my insurance company.
Just wanted to share my experience so others know what kind of service to expect before going there. It just seems shady to me that he won’t give me a receipt for the work they did on my car and something on paper that his mechanics diagnosed
