We picked up a car from the airport that was dirty and smelled of smoke. Luckily we found this location nearby and saved our vacation and my son whose asthmatic and bothered by the smell. I didn't catch his name, but the guy with braided hair was very helpful and professional.

Rental car is neat and clean but the staff is not good. Staff didn't greeted with smile and not really welcoming. If other locations options are available, then go for it!

We booked through Budget online for a RAV 4 or equivalent on Friday. The services were swift and easy. Made an online payment and was here to collect our car at 4:55 pm (closes at 5pm) when I realized as a Provisional driver I cannot rent a car. Had to rent under my wife (BDL). I called the online customer care (very difficult to reach and finally after several attempts was able to reach them ) to cancel my previous booking and create a new booking. Although the store was physically open the online customer service representative was unable to create a booking (5:10pm).We were saved and our trip was enjoyable only because of Ms. ILEANA CASTELLANOS who was stationed here and is a customer service representative. She created a booking for us and made available a SUBARU OUTBACK at the last minute. She went above and beyond to help us even getting us some discount. We were probably her last customer and the reason why she stayed overtime. She was very helpful.As soon as we picked our car we saw her leaving. Some people like doing their job while some people like to help more (on a Friday evening) and Ms Ileana was definitely one of those.Dropping of our keys on Sunday was Easy (closes on Sunday). I would definitely use the rental again and may be call this place, come here and make a booking in person next time. Would definitely look for Ms Ileana the next time we rent.

I will NEVER use this location again. They are liars, they give you bare minimum info to take the insurance when I could have saved $100’s of dollars to prove I had full coverage and made me feel I had to take their insurance because I was using a debit card. In times like this you need to help people not screw people.

Do yourself a favor and do not go to this place. There's a young man there who is a good guy but the new people that they have there are inconsiderate rude and inept they don't even know what they're doing. you expect to be able to grab and go with your car after you paid for it but then they develop these new policies and I had to go to another rental place and here I've rented from them before many many times and I got treated very badly today I will never return to this place again. Do not use this place. by the way I was left stranded there and had to get a uber to drive me to the other rental place. This shows you the nonchalant apathetic attitude of this company.

I rented a box truck to move my son from Somerset County to Brooklyn on a Sunday. Picked up the truck at 8:45 AM on a Sunday morning. Walked around the vehicle to inspect it for damage so that I would not be charged for any previous damage upon return. I asked Jason Eagle, (the Budget Truck rental person) how long they would be open and he said till 2 PM. I said that I would need the truck past that. He said there's a key drop and no problem as long as it was back first thing Monday morning. He said the late fee was $10 and I said OK. Opened up the rear door and looked inside and could not tell how dirty it was inside until I arrived home. We had to blow it out with a leaf blower and wipe the surfaces down. Trust me, it was pretty bad. After we loaded it my son and I got in and the seat belts would not extend out of the rest position. We tried everything. No service manual. In addition, I found a gang of exposed wires at the base of the seat belt behind the driver's side seat. I called Jason Eagle and shared my situation and asked him for another truck. He said, " I don't have another vehicle. You can call roadside assistance." He also stated that he knew nothing about the vehicle and that he was only the dispatcher. My wife called Budget Roadside assistance and was on hold for over 25 minutes. This might not seem like a long time, but when your truck is loaded and you're ready to roll, this was an eternity, especially when you trust a company to inspect a vehicle and make sure everything works. Not to mention that it would take at least an hour for them to arrive to either repair or bring a second vehicle. And if they brought a second vehicle, we would have to unload and then reload the new truck, which would take at least another hour. More lost time and more stress! While my wife was on hold with Budget Roadside Assistance, I decided to try YouTube on my cell phone and did a search on "Ford E350 Seatbelts locked" and although I couldn't find the exact video, I did find a couple that offered solutions. The problem was that they required more tools and more time. Just before I gave up I found a video about turning off the seat belt chimes. I figured we could take the risk and drive slowly, but at least we wouldn't have to listen to that annoying chime all day. I watched the video and followed the procedure which was to turn off the truck, wait 30 sec, turn the key but do not start the truck and wait another 30 seconds. Success! This released the driver's side seat belt. My son moved to the center jump seat which had a lap belt and we were off. As required, I filled the gas tank at a Raceway station about 1/4 mile from the Budget Office. I dropped off the truck, locked the doors and placed the key in the return box at around 6:30 PM. On Monday morning I called Jason Eagle to make sure everything was ok and asked him to review the bill. They charged me $10 for a late drop-off, and then another $25 for an "additional day". They charged me $30 stating that the tank was not full and that they had to put $3 in to fill the tank. I explained to Jason Eagle that I asked the attendant at the pump to "fill the tank", and that's what he did. What Budget expects is that filling the tank means pumping that little extra into the tank once the pump handle releases. In NJ it is against the law for them to do that. Apparently Budget does not know this. Also, Jason Eagle never mentioned the $25 next day late-fee when we spoke. He expected me to take the time to read all of the fine print on the agreement. I did scan the agreement, but who actually reads it? He should have verbally walked me through it, just like they do when you rent a car...anywhere else. Again, Jason Eagle took zero responsibility for any of this. He said there was nothing he could do about it as the vehicle was already checked in, and he referred me to Budget Customer Service. Horrible customer service. Lady at the counter is very unpleasant. This is not a typical Busget or Avis shop. Was told that you have to call to confirm availability even though I pre booked online. Long wait time for car. Was told she cannot change reservation or upgrade to another car because I booked online. Should have listened to the other reviews.
