This review is for Michael Cekot. I have been filling my taxes with Michael for several years and I have to say that he is a fantastic tax advisor! He is incredibly knowledgeable concerning the constantly changing tax laws and has caught several things that other tax advisors have either missed, didn’t know about, or misinterpreted. I am an anxious person, and I often worry about things being accurate even to the tiniest detail. But Michael is kind and always patient and willing to answer my many, many questions as he walks me through the filling process and assures me of the accuracy of the completed forms. Thank you so much for all of your time, patience, and assistance Michael! I really appreciate it.

My advisor did a very poor job at advising. I moved out of state in 2024 and needed to file for 2 states. I told my advisor this at the very beginning to make sure she could still advise me and take care of all matters pertaining to my taxes. She said this was fine. What she didn't tell me is that I wouldn't be able to pay my taxes through H&R block like I did the previous year when I owed or the process for local taxes.
My state has a very complicated process for paying and filing taxes and I had to spend a lot of my own time calling the state office and trying to figure this process out. My advisor did not tell me that local taxes needed to be filed or that she wouldn't be able to file them until After I paid. Now she won't return our calls...
My question is, why did I spend $500 on a tax advisor when I still had to do half the work myself? This was a huge waste of money. She should have directed me to an advisor who could better assist me instead of taking my money, not completing the job, and wasting my time. I shouldn't be stressing over how to complete and pay my taxes weeks after paying an advisor $500 to do this very job.

Stay away! I met with my accountant on Saturday 2/22/25 for my annual tax appointment and she made an inappropriate comment about my weight out of no where. It was incredibly uncalled for and I hope she learns that she cannot talk to clients this way. It was incredibly unprofessional. I complained to front desk and the store leader at the time apologized for her behavior and told me that I will hear back from her boss regarding the issue. I missed a voicemail from management the Monday after and I called multiple times to follow up, but It has been multiple weeks now and I still have not received a call back from management or given some sort of resolution. The entire experience has left me extremely uncomfortable and displeased. I will not be filing with her or potentially H&R Block ever again.

This location is horrible. I left my appointment due to 1.them being unprepared for my appointment when I explained my circumstances when I made it and 2. One of the women working was just down right rude and quite frankly very unwilling to help me. No worries though, I went to Jackson Hewitt & had all my questions answered professionally and without an attitude. 🤷🏼♀️

First, the website says the services start at $89 and up. It then explains how the person you meet with will walk you through every step of the process. None of that happened with Mr. Cekot. I sat there awkwardly and uncomfortably for an hour only to be told at the end it was $400 for the services. No explanation as to why.
I will say their district manager called me as a result of my survey and I do appreciate her hearing me out. Needless to say the experience I have is not what they strive for, but this was still my first experience.
Make sure you ask questions before getting started and making sure you understand how their pricing works! It is not a flat fee!

Michael C was very helpful in helping me file an amended return. I didn't check everything I was supposed with a complicated tax situation and he walked me through filing the amended return, he never berated me for my inexperience with taxes and he was very patient.

Failed to file state tax last year, failed to file state tax this year. Identity was stolen from information given from them. Not returning.

Salma was extremely rude and impatient. I walked out on my appointment with her, because of her nasty attitude. I wound up going to another location that same day, the man was so polite and patient . Even the other tax preparers we're willing to help me out. I was done in less than an hour.

The tax filing smooth for me, they helped me to create ITIN for my daughter. I hope they are doing this free of cost. But for tax filing, they charged me 260$, which is too high, I believe. Also, they are not filing, you need to get envelop from them and need to post yourself..
