I went to FHT Tires for tire installation and rim repair. I paid a $400 deposit. Before installing the new tires, the shop installed a loaner rim on my front wheel. Within about a mile, two lug nuts came off completely and the remaining three were loose, which created a serious safety hazard.
Volvo’s inspection confirmed the front brake backing plate was damaged due to improper installation. The tires were never installed, the service was never completed, and the shop has refused to refund my deposit.
I have filed complaints with NJ Consumer Affairs and BBB and am pursuing small claims. Sharing this to help others make informed decisions.
