We just adopted the sweetest boy from Plainfield Area Humane Society. I don’t have enough nice things to say about this place. Everyone is so friendly and truly cares for the animals. Thank you for introducing us to Reece, he has found his forever home! ❤️

We have adopted two outstanding adult cats from this shelter over the past 20 years. Shelter workers and volunteers are very dedicated to the welfare of all the animals. The shelter does a good job of temperament testing.

Very clean, people were very nice, they have wonderful pets that need homes, I wish I was able to keep the cat that I picked up from there, I fell in love with him, he grew on us fast, someone who shares the house with us was allergic to cats, I really hated to see him go back

I just adopted a one year old calico cat 6/6/23. Everyone at the shelter was extremely helpful and friendly. I am now enjoying becoming acquainted with Molly.

The only reason I'm giving one star is because the shelter does what it does out of their love for animals and I truly appreciate that. However, it seems they don't care to help people who care for animals. I was moving and planned to take a stray I was caring for with me. On moving day, he got out and bolted. I tried a few times unsuccessfully on my own to get him. I called the shelter and while I realize I was asking a lot, asked if they would trap him for me rather than just lending out the trap. I was prepared to give them a VERY GENEROUS donation. I first spoke to Josh on May 5 who made me feel so at ease and assured me he would do it. I sent him all the info plus pictures. A week later, after not hearing back, I called again and spoke to a woman who acted as if I was bothering her but did say they were aware and they would take care of it that weekend or the next. Those weeks went by and I still heard nothing. I called again and got the same woman (who, I'll grant, was nicer that time) told her I didn't mean to bother her but really wanted this kitty. She said she would have a officer check it on and call me back. Guess what? No call back. I gave up, got someone else's number and this fantastic lady trapped him within a day and reunited me with my kitty. She got the $500. It took her 2 days to do what the shelter could not in over 30. I understand the shelter is busy -- I am angry that I was repeatedly told they would get him when clearly they had no intention of doing so. I put my faith, hope and trust in them and they blew it. Just tell me from the start you can't (or WON'T) help me. I guess they were spending all their time and resources for the doggie wedding they are hosting tomorrow. While I am sincerely happy for the bride and groom, I don't put much stock in this shelter. Go elsewhere. There are other shelters who care much more.

I could give 0 starsThey were not profesional at all, we adopted our first cat Eightball. He was a gentleman, he was the best cat ever (God bless my handsome Eightball) anyway when we adopted him they gave us the papers that he was good, he didn’t have FIV, the paper they gave us it was negative. So we decided to adopt another cat, (Toraline) she was a kitten 6months old. When Eightball died they said it was because of a disease. I went to adopt another cat because I love cats so they told me that I had to make Toraline an FIV exam since Eightball was infected with that, I told her that Eightball was negative but they showed me that in the system they had it positive. SO HE HAD POSITIVE AND THEY GAVE A KITTEN WITHOUT ANY PREVENTION wth???? That’s not professional at all. I’m sorry but that’s d*** because first why you didn’t tell us the truth that Eightball had FIV, second why give us a kitten if she was able to get infected!People at this place is rude, they don’t take care good care of animals. Also a friend called this center because she wasn’t able to take care of her cat anymore and they didn’t help her at all. They are supposed to help animals. What about if she leaves her cat in the street just because they are not kind to help out. I don’t see that as good thing! Anyway I just wanted to share my thoughts!

We went to look for a kitten...my children's first pet...wasn't expecting to fall in love but boy oh BOY! Mist came into our lives and we can't be more thankful to The Plainfield Humane Society for such a special addition to our family. The people there REALLY love their work...aside from the smell (to be expected at an animal shelter) it was a pleasure being there to see the animals...would recommend.

They don’t post all dogs! They adopted our family dog and never told us. They had our contact information and the breed and sex of the dog. They NEVER posted our dog as found. Now they’re saying adoptions are final. Horrible to do to a family!
