“I went to 5 below with a very large order of 200 backpacks for my office's annual back to school event. We apparently had forgot to confirm the order with the store. Nevertheless, when I got there, all the employees were very helpful, especiall the manager Lisa who helped me hand-pick 200 backpacks off the shelves. She really went above and beyond and helped tremendously, giving true care to pick designs the kids might like. The other store employees helped as well, with scanning the massuve order and baghing them, and then helping me pack my car. All around it only took 30 minutes because they became a well-oiled machine and really helped me out!! Thank you to the whole team for a great experience, you really made a difference!!”

“I recently visited this location with my nephews. From start to finish the experience was great. This location is probably the best merchandised one I have seen in awhile. Myself as well as both of my nephews just had fun. The staff working were all busy working yet still made a point to say hi and check in. They also looked like they enjoyed the work which is rare. The selection was very good and nobody made us feel bad for laughing, touching product, and taking our time. Great experience. We will for sure be back.”

“Nice collection of items. One stop for all your needs. Little pricey when compared to dollar tree but this location is conveniently placed near the other grocery stores in oak tree road.”

“If you live in the area, this is a convenient store to pick up random household items you need for around a dollar. However, if you don't live in the area, there is no parking lot available. They also have products that other dollar stores (Dollar General, etc.) don't have, so it might be worth a visit if you're already in the area.”

“Such a great place. The señora outside yelling about elotes is a total sweetheart and the elotes, chili watermelon, and chili mango are amazing. Proper Mexican food that will make you happy inside and out.”

“huge variety of items that range from party planning supplies, toys, perfume, juice & soda, to household items & decor and a lots more. The people that work there are very nice and quite helpful and they know their stock very well! love going here- even to browse. I always find what I need. (also, there is NO weird plastic or warehouse-ish smell that a lot of dollar stores have.)Definitely 5 stars for me!”

“Thank you to Michelle, who was working at the counter today! I broke my glasses in the parking lot, and she helped me put my glasses back together. 10/10 customer service and overall being an awesome person. May both sides of her pillow be cold each night and may she never lose her keys?”

“Truly a local gem. Always impressed by the broad range of products and helpful staff. I have been coming here for yrs to get home supplies, party favors, and especially for all the seasonal and holiday items! It's my spot for Christmas, Valentine's, Easter and birthdays”
Dollar General opened its 20,000th U.S. store on February 24th in Alice, Texas. It’s a major milestone for the discount chain that started as one small general store back in 1955. Starting with a ribbon cutting ceremony, the grand opening celebration began at 9am. First customers received some freebies - tote bags filled with free product samples and snacks from DG's Clover Valley brand.
