It is an overpriced place with poor selection and a terrible return policy, hoping to take advantage of young adults and tourist traffic. My teenager accidentally paid for a couple of items and they refused to help her leaving her in tears. And when I came to resolve the issue, they rudely pointed at the writing on the receipt that stated, "no refunds". Which is unheard of for an honest place that is confident in their quality and selection. So I think it's fair to post a warming and give them the one star they deserved.

Brave New World! More like Basic and in an Old World. Behind in the times, go to pacsun or squan dry goods same type of style for a quarter of the price.

Best shop to buy your wetsuit/surfboard. Biggest selection of brands and really cool kids working there.

Nasty manager. Older woman gave a massive attitude when I was looking to return an item that I was assured by the Toms River store that I could return. She said I couldn’t return it. I supplied her with the nice managers name at Toms River that said I could return it. She was so annoyed she kicked a box behind the register gave me a nasty attitude, wouldn’t even look at us. Did the return after calling the other store and just handed me my receipt. Do better Brave New World. This woman does not belong in customer service!!!

Don’t ever attempt going in with a stroller. Not stroller friendly . Very embarrassing experience. Can’t fit anywhere.

For any surfer, a store like this should be a beacon on the hill. They have a great selection of boards and some knowledgeable folks there to help. A lot of people complain about the prices here, but I understand that cost have gone up and its not the stores fault (I've bought a couple boards here). When you consider the amount of work that goes into shaping and glassing a board, it's really not that crazy and it has little to nothing to do with the store. What really bothers me about this location is that they won't let customer use the bathroom. Now that I've reached the ago where I can afford whatever boards I want, I do expect a curtain level of customer service. If I spend $999. one a a board and they then tell me I can't use the restroom....that's just not cool. I need to drive 30 minutes to get to this place, than shop......If I need to pee, where exactly would BNW like me to do this? Not saying I won't return, but I'm a lot more likely to go to Eastern Lines now.

Bunch of young, ignorant Karen"s. Rude and thoughtless. Probably why they have a help wanted sign. If you can't afford good people, just add more.

If I could choose a lower star I would! I just left Brave New World and I was never greeted by any multiple employees that passed me. Finally in the children's dept., I was greeted by a nice young man. At the check out, the 3 young ladies still never said hello or thank you--not even a smile! They looked at me as if I was bothering them! I am local and I will share with many other local friends about rude the employees of Brave New World and that shopping locally was a huge disappointment!

Great selection, great service at the cost of full price on everything. They have just about everything for the surfer and the snow boarder here with all the trendy casual wear that comes with it.

They have anything snowboard, surf, accessory/gear related you could ask for. Great local shop with tons of brands. A little pricey.

Super over priced. Take a picture of what you like and get it online and you'll at least get 20% off. Also certain employees come off very rude (some older guy) and there is so much in the store you can barely move around it

Very wide selection of all your favorite brands for clothing. Pt. Pleasant store has the better selection of the two stores.

My husband and I visited the store twice this week looking to purchase a pair of sunglasses. We were lucky enough to have Matthew assisting us on both occasions. Not only was he incredibly kind and patient with us as we asked to look through multiple display cases, he was personable and answered all of our questions enthusiastically. We witnessed other customers enter the store and speak to Matthew a bit rudely, but his demeanor never changed. He was polite and professional to everyone that he encountered.Matthew was the reason that we returned to your store a second time to purchase the sunglasses. We had looked at different stores in the area during our stay, but did not find the same level of professionalism or kindness that Matthew had shown us. He truly made our experience one that we will remember and we are grateful to have met him.

Usually love this store and feel that it’s fairly priced. Today, I dealt with an older woman near the register when asking another employee if we could try to get a small stain I had noticed out of a shirt that was for sale. The shirt was the last of its size, which is why I had asked. It was also white, so while the stain was not huge, it was noticeable as soon as I had seen the shirt. She was extremely rude, despite the fact that I was having a pleasant conversation with the employee I had initially approached. She told me that I should just buy the stained shirt & “take my chances.” When I told her I wasn’t going to do that, she got even ruder and told me to look for something else. She then processed to put the stained piece back. I ended up buying nothing else and ordering the shirt from the brand’s website. Never plan on shopping here again- losing a longtime customer based on one employee’s rude remarks.
