The victor in the Wagnerian struggle between the German retail giants. Produce is better, meat excellent, as opposed to OK at Aldi, intriguing collection of doodads. Livery a good clothing brand for men who settle for presentable. Ethnic weeks lots of fun.Huge selection of snacks, but I don't eat them.Checkout not as smooth and cashier's, visibly irritated, have to stand.

Only issue with Lidl is that there are things that are at times sold out or not available. But you can check off most if not all boxes on a standard trip.

This was my first visit to any Lidl store. It was a Saturday at 3:30pm. My observations are based the on brand itself rather than any comparison to any other Lidl store. Selection is limited, so much so that I didn't find half the items on my list (products not specific brands.) It gave off a flea market vibe, not only for the food but for the actual random flea market items in bins. I enjoyed A&P's Food Basics when it was around which had the same concept but better choices. I prefer Costco and Sam's Club where I can buy in bulk. Lidl seems the opposite of that. The poor cashier didn't look very thrilled since the employee was the only one working.

Lidl is one of my favorite places to shop. I think it is a very important place for the neighborhood with both affordable and quality products. Also, with nish market products, it is possible to reach many different products that are needed at affordable prices. In addition, all deli products are much more affordable than other markets. The last thing I would say is that as a Muslim, it would be much better if there was a halal product option. Especially if there is a halal option for meat, minced meat and chicken products, we would not need to go anywhere else.

While I’m impressed that a grocery store opened in Pompton Lakes this is not a one stop shopping store. The produce variety and prices are fantastic and there are always interesting finds throughout the store. However the baked goods are not up to modern standards and the meat is just abysmal. I just attempted to cook a package of chopped meat from here. While the date on the package is good, it smelled very strong and it definitely has additives like water or some mysterious substance. Gross. I’ve also had to throw out raw chicken from here in the past. Beyond bad refrigeration the product is doomed to start. Lidl should skip the meat department and focus on what they are good at.

Excellent store from Europe with excellent prices and selection. Every week new rotation of special international foods, friendly staff and usually pretty empty. Recommended.

Love their bakery, everything is so fresh, food prices are good and competitive, but lately the price on the shelf doesn't match the price you're charged, be careful check your receipt.

Love the store. Only complaints: no deli. Always Only one check out line open. It takes forever to check out, and usually a problem ringing up an item for a customer ahead of me. It NEVER fails.

Please.... add more cashiers or a self-check out, then I'll spend my money here. I'm not waiting in long lines just for your prices

I love Lidl. Prices are great, and despite what kind of seems like a limited selection at first, compared to Shop Rite at least, I always find what I need to buy.Lidl house brand items are excellent, with a nice variety of different meats, frozen prepared foods, coffees, and chocolates.Like the little bakery section too where you can grab a donut or something for the road.

Hey, so starting this off with the disclaimer I'm in a pretty good mood. We walked in here for the first time ever today, we wanted to explore it for fun. The first thing that caught our eye was the bakery, it looked very appealing (and it was right at the entrance to the store). We got two jelly donuts, a chocolate croissant, and an apple turnover. In order of goodness, it was (1) Apple turnover - 4 , (2) Chocolate Croissant - 3 , (3) Jelly Donut - 2 . The jelly donut was the worst. There was not a lot of jelly and it did not taste very good. But besides that, the store was fun. Everything is in boxes, that was different . I think we would go back!

Probably the best grocery store/brand in NJ. 1) I am a huge fan of Trader Joe's, but German brands like Lidl and Aldi are giving a stiff competition to American brands of the same category. 2) Their German chocolates and cookies are top notch, bar none. 3) I also like their baked goods. 4) They also have very affordable ethnic frozen food items, like Indian butter chicken and chana masala.

My husband and I get our whole wheat bread here. It is good and not very expensive. We also get frozen Falafel here. It is so good to get a vegetarian dish for less than $10 a serving.
