Sunset Valley Golf Course is a beautiful and great course, considered one of the best public courses and the best in the local county system. It offers a fun, challenging, and rewarding round for all skill levels, set against stunning natural beauty. The facility includes a clubhouse with a restaurant and a pro shop with friendly staff. However, the course can be overplayed, showing a lot of wear by season's end. Tee boxes and cart paths are often in rough shape or total disrepair, and temporary winter conditions can detract from the round. While the greens are typically pretty smooth and fast, recent aeration is not always communicated. The starter is frequently described as extremely rude and unpleasant, which negatively impacts the experience. Despite these maintenance and service issues, many find it an enjoyable round and a favorite course to add to their rotation.
Very challenging course, but not unfair. At least three greens where you better stay below the pin on your approach shot.

This is one of my favorite courses to play. Played here yesterday 9/2 and the course showed a lot of wear. Tee boxes are in rough shape and the cart paths are in total disrepair. Still had an enjoyable round though. Staff was very nice. For a (wealthy) county course, you would hope for better maintenance.

The course is the best course in morris county system. It is over played by end of June. Tee boxes get pretty beat up. Still my first choice for county course
