I called ahead of time to reserve and the woman didn’t want to be bothered to take my name. i dropped off my wife and friend who is recovering from surgery so they would have to walk. After parking the car and walking back to the restaurant I found them standing by the door because the woman wouldn’t let them sit down until the entire party arrived. The restaurant was completely empty except for three people at one table. She finally agreed to let them sit down and I asked her very politely to heat our bottle of sake. She looked at me like I asked her to paint my house. She then proceeded to yell at us for reacting incredulously to her resistance to do her job. Now you know why you don’t need reservations on a night where most restaurants in Princeton are full. I didn’t think any restaurant owner could be more obnoxious than the previous owner (Ajihei) but this woman is a nightmare. I feel bad for the sushi chef because the sushi and sashimi here is really good. We’ll never go back. Usually this woman is busy screwing up take out orders so in the past we were luckier in getting an actual waiter. Luckily we went to Elite Five and had a very nice meal and served by thoughtful professional waitstaff. I’m sure its just a short while until they have alienated the last of their clientele and they will go out of business.

Quiet, cozy place for really good ramen. Better when adding a sushi roll.

Excellent sushi, but it ain’t cheap. Hole in the wall basement vibe with no cell service. Around $8 per piece of salmon nigiri. Can’t eat for much less than $50 per person

Authentic Japanese sushi and comfort food. All of their fish is fresh, their sushi rice is perfect, and their miso soup is authentic miso.We stopped by for lunch and were blown away. Great, welcoming service. The interior is cozy. They serve fresh green tea, which is always a plus! This is the best quality sushi and Japanese cuisine you’ll find in all of Princeton.

The woman waitress is very very rude. Makes the experience very unpleasant. Also, you will wait about 2 hours for your appetizer. Extremely slow.

I lived in Princeton for many years, and this is my favorite sushi place. The staff is kind and accomodating. My favorite item to order is the Chirashi Bowl. I love the atmosphere. I save this place for special occasions or dinner with special friends. I love to buy a bottle of sake from Public before heading over here.

This is a small Japanese style restaurant. One waitress served about 20 seat in a small room. It is in the basement. Noodles, sushi, and teriyaki. Food is decent, but a bit overpriced. The seating is good for two, but for sure, not convenience for 3 and more. If you just want to get noodle for quick eat, it is OK. Otherwise, you may have many other choice in Nassau street, such as Chinese restaurant SC etc. where offer more choices and space for seating.

My whole party got sushi/sashimi here. The fish quality and the presentation here is probably the best in Princeton. Prices are standard for quality fresh fish anywhere-- probably you'd find it expensive if you're used to all-you-can-eat sushi places. Miso soup and pickled vegetables were tasty, the pickled radish here is not dyed.Service was perfectly pleasant. Never got a whiff of the "rudeness" other reviews seem to complain a lot about. Then again I go to restaurants for the food, not to be smiled at by staff. If you're in Princeton and in the mood for sushi this is the place to go.Wheelchair accessibility: Down a flight of steep outside stairs to get to this restaurant from street level (it's a basemeny level restaurant).

Best ramen in town and best sushi in town. Dont sleep on the Japanese Curry either!Although short staffed, the staff works extremely hard to get food to you and doesnt take short cuts on cooking or prepping. Food is fresh, quality ingredients are used, and the atmosphere is authentic. Love this place!

The air is bad that I can barely open my eyes to finish whole meal. Food is overpriced. Service was fine.

An intimate and cosy space. A bit slow on service, but ramen was worth the wait. And, they even have lychee Ramune!

The sashimi platter with rice and miso soup below cost me $58, including tip, I'll just leave that there. Little under $60 for 3 blocks of tuna, 2 blocks of salmon, 2 blocks of yellowfin, and a hair of uni + miso soup and rice for an additional $7.50.Rice was undercooked; miso soup was powdery nor ever replenished; the sashimi itself was not fresh and the salmon was overpowered by the lemon that they've decorated the platter with. I'm not sure if Ajiten was running out of uni because no restaurant has ever served me that morsel amount you see in the photo. The ambience of the place is very quiet when I was the only one there, but forget about privacy if you're sat next to someone because the seats are very, very close to each other. The saving grace of the place was the service...not really. The service was okay, and the servers were very polite and professional, but it definitely wasn't enough to be a redeeming factor.I had high hopes for Ajiten, but they've let me down considerably.
