This whole store is temperature controlled to a cool 58° properly preserving all the wine bottles in the store. Bring a jacket because this wine collection is a good one to walk through. The wine here is ready to pour. It pains me to purchase wine in a warmer or hot store and open it afterwards over a meal. The lighting and decor could be better.Cheers!

Walked in with no direction other than a simple red blend. Gentleman pointed me to a well priced bottle that turned out to be delicious. I’d stop there every time if I was local

A WINE SHOP THAT SELLS NO BAD WINE!One of the mottos we wine drinkers have frequently heard is "Life is too short to drink bad wine!" This is the credo of the Princeton Corkscrew. This well researched and mindfully assembled "wine library" has best representatives of even the tiniest microclimate where wines of note are produced. The associates working beside the owner Laurent Chapuis are well-studied connaisseurs who can talk intelligently about every bottle in the shop. Before a new bottle is placed in the racks it has been tasted and discussed by members of the team. Laurent, himself, visits the winemakers and the terroirs to select only the best examples and best vintages for his shelves. Open tastings invite we consumers to meet the makers and taste their wines including vertical samplings which educate us.I've never visited a better educated shop than the Princeton Corkscrew. And I have never bought a wine that didn't live up to its portrayal.Good advice. Good information. Good pricing.GREAT WINE! Merci Laurent!

Extremely knowledgeable staff and a broad selection of interesting wines; one staff member (50'ish guy with ponytail) can be somewhat condescending. Ironically, one of his recommendations was the only mediocre bottle I've ever gotten in years of shopping here intermittently. That aside, this is the place to go to stock your cellar or find a special occasion bottle.

I told the staff what I liked he showed me a couple of other ones which I loved by the way. Staff is really helpful, he even told me about those wines’ history. They have all kinds of wines.

Visited Princeton with my wife and son a few weeks ago. We where excited to find Princeton Corkscrew. This establishment looked very promising with well organized aisles of old world and new world wine. Promising to return after exploring Princeton, we returned to purchase several bottles of wine, Greek for dinner at Local Greek and a few more bottles of Burgundy and Bordeaux to take home. Unfortunately about 3 of bottles ended up as spoiled/corked wine. The first of which we didn’t think to much about, we realize corked wines comes up every several bottles or so. The second wine, a burgundy embarrassed us in front of friends at dinner after everyone spit it back into the glass. Finally my wife and I decanted a bottle of Chateau Angelus No.3, only to realize right away it was spoiled with heavy sediment in the glass for a fairly young wine. The bottle was in fact spoiled. We came to the conclusion the wine poorly stored. 3 different wines from different regions and most likely different wholesalers. Too many bottles gone bad to be a coincidence. After the 3rd bad bottle we called the store to let them know, they basically said next time I’m in Princeton to bring back the bottle…. Residing in Pennsylvania, we don’t live around the corner. I wrote them an email with pictures of receipts, bottles, heavy sediment in the glass. They ignored me. To makes matters worse, we specifically didn’t purchase wine when visiting Public Wine & Spirits because we promised Corkscrew we would be back. Avoid this unsophisticated establishment, unless purchasing cheap commercial wine.

Lovely shop! Called to get a quick delivery while I was visiting from out of town. Everyone was super helpful, and they went out of their way to get the delivery done the day I called. Wine selection was great - and I can tell they keep the store at the right temp.

Great recommendations. Ted's advice is always excellent. He's helped me find different wines and challenge my preconceptions about some areas.

All of these one star reviews are surely bots; they make NO sense to me based on my years of patronizing the shop! The Corkscrew's selection is fantastic, with prices under $20, all the way up to collector bottles. On top of it, the staff is super helpful and easy to talk to. They'll take time and walk you around the shop to find perfect pairings for whatever you're planning for dinner, etc. Nothing short of five-star experiences at this locally owned business!
