I make time to get a haircut here every time I visit NY. The owner is very skilled and doesn't annoy me with gibberish and pretentious smiles. Most importantly, she knows what she is doing.

My husband occasionally gets his haircut here. We both decided to come here since all the hair places in Pal Park were booked or closed on a Sunday. There were two Korean ladies and a Hispanic woman working there. The old Korean woman is the owner and seems too preoccupied with her phone or talking to other guests to greet customers. She will only pay attention when someone is done and needs to pay.I had my hair washed first and the Hispanic lady seemed to be in a rush. Maybe that's a good thing for people who have gone grocery shopping and want to be in and out before their ice cream melts. She also used a ton of shampoo and conditioner. I'm not sure if she got all the suds out. This place is old and not that clean looking but I felt comfortable here. It's like one of those countryside salons in Korea that my grandmother goes to. I don't know but I feel burdened and out of place in the more modern salons with the nice decor. The younger woman seems to do all the haircuts. She's very efficient. She did my husband's hair then mine. I wanted to keep my length but to lighten the load a bit. Some salons call it "thinning" where they reduce the volume underneath. I guess she didn't understand or decided to do her own thing but I was happy with the results. My hair is shorter and lighter but I still have the volume that some people don't have but want. ^^Service: Haircut

Ugh, the owner of this establishment needs a serious lesson in proper etiquette. She greeted us with a "what do you want" instead of a welcoming and polite " hello, how can I help you" greeting. If you're the owner and reading your reviews, know that service and words matter, especially in the professional world. Probably why there was only one customer..Stay away from this place.

I had a very very bad experience in this Hair City barber shop. I showed a picture from their hair style book. The style is supposed to be straight on top and a little bit curve at the bottom. This lady is very confident and confirmed that she can do it. However, the result is that it is nothing close to the hair style i want. Actually, there is no hair style at all. What is even worse...My hair is totally damaged. It becomes very dry and uncontrollable. I went back to the store the following morning. But there is nothing they can do about it. Despite they damaged my hair, they still processed the charge to my credit card for 150 and refused to refund. DO NOT COME HERE EVER.
