The Co-op Nursery School of Ridgewood has been such a comforting and positive experience for my family. As first-time parents, finding the best fit for you and your child can be nerve wracking. The co-op checked all our boxes for professional and engaging teachers and staff, safety, cleanliness, and parent involvement. My daughter loves attending class and learning in a play-based environment. The Co-op community truly feels like extended family.

The Cooperative Nursery School of Ridgewood has been a positive experience for my son and my family. I went to a cooperative nursery school when I was a child. If possible, I knew that I wanted to give my children a similar experience. Therefore, I was very excited to find the nursery school! This school is unique. The Coop structure allows for greater parent involvement and gives a real community feel. I look forward to sending my daughter to the school soon as well.

I am so grateful to have stumbled upon the Cooperative Nursery School of Ridgewood (aka the Ridgewood Co-op) when we moved to town. I had a preconceived notion that "Cooperative" meant scrubbing the school's toilets on the weekend, but thankfully that's far from the case! What it does mean is that you have the rare privilege of taking part in your child's early school experience by assisting in the classroom once a month (if you so choose). It really is fascinating to see them interact in this realm that is so different from home! The teachers are experienced, fun, loving, and intuitive. They have met the needs of my 2 drastically different children (3 and 5) and identified my son's fine motor and attention issues that I (as a special education teacher) had completely overlooked. They have been indispensable in getting him on track for Kindergarten. There is a familial vibe that was completely absent from our previous school. Over the past 3 years, my husband and I have forged what we know will be lifelong friendships.I was overwhelmingly anxious about sending my kids back to school during the pandemic, but knew it was where they needed to be. The director has implemented protocols that are far beyond what is mandated- really helping to ease my mind. Although this year has looked very different, the familial atmosphere is still alive in how the staff and families are always looking out for the health and safety of the entire community. And the (masked) children are as happy, social, and engaged as ever!I will surely be shedding more than a few tears when my little one graduates!

The Ridgewood Co-op has done a remarkable job preparing my two very different children for life after preschool. The staff is warm and engaging; my children feel safe and cared for. The Co-op has teachers with decades of experience in early childhood education and, in the years that I've had children in the school, I've seen them continue to update the curriculum to meet the needs of today's preschoolers. I'm grateful to be a part of a nurturing educational community; monthly volunteering in the classroom has allowed me to get to know each of my child's teachers, classmates, and their families. This introduction to schooling, for our family, has been priceless.

The Co-Op has been an amazing, nurturing experience for both my daughters. The teachers are warm, caring, and talented and tend to stay for long careers, enhancing their knowledge and school pride. They take the time to get to know the children and understand how to facilitate their growth. In 2020, the school’s COVID-19 preventative measures have been impeccable and unmatched. I feel safe sending my children to school and I’m happy they are able to experience socialization in a safe way. During regular times, the experiences inside the school are a great way to stay connected to your children as well as get to know their classmates and families. Anyone looking to enhance their child’s learning in a caring, play-based atmosphere should check out the Co-Op and all it has to offer.

The Cooperative Nursery School of Ridgewood has provided such a positive preschool experience for my son. The teachers and staff are kind and thoughtful. The Co-op structure makes it much more affordable than other local options and is centrally located in town. I cannot wait to send my daughter here in a few years!

We had looked at other preschool options in Ridgewood and really felt the Ridgewood Co-op stood out among them for us. We were very impressed with the staff and the encouraging and positive environment for our child. The staff is very dedicated and, since it's a co-op, there's also a very involved community of families which give the co-op a supportive community feel. You also get the opportunity to be involved in your child's education and the teacher's do a great job updating you and sharing pictures so you never feel like you're missing important developmental milestones. I'll also say, although I might be generalizing, that the parents really care about the overall wellbeing of the school and the children; in other preschools that we've viewed we got the impression that the parents were competitive with each other instead of collaborative which was a differentiator for the co-op. We've had our son in the school for two years and the school has helped him to develop socially and academically. The teachers pay special attention to our child and have helped him to build his confidence and independence. I highly recommend this school.

The Ridgewood Coop experience has been a really amazing one. My oldest son graduated last year very well prepared for Kindergarten, while learning in a nurturing play based environment. My younger son started in Mommy & Me (now in the 3’s) and looks forward to school each day. The teachers are experienced veterans who have been there for years with very little turnover. The co-op environment allows you to be involved in your child’s day to day learning as well as get to know the teachers, make friends and have support from local moms and dads. It is a true community feel. Additionally, there are amazing extended day programs like lunch & play and enrichment for more flexibility. They offer PE class, music, have a full library, rainy day room, seasonal concerts, holiday celebrations and more. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!

My family could not be happier with our experiences at the Coop. My oldest son has learned so much in the two years he's been in the school and he's having a blast while doing it. My youngest son is learning routine and independence in Mommy and Me. I've made great friends at the Coop and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Like most parents, I want the best preschool for my children, and I've found the coop is incomparably wonderful. The parents are passionate and provide their many talents to the school, making the school highly tech-savvy and energized. My son loves the activities his talented teachers create for him, playing outside on the coop's playground, the optional enrichment classes (musical theater, creative chefs, passports for pipsqueaks, etc.), and because of the belief in the importance of play at the coop, he has made 13 best friends, who he misses on the weekends! I LOVE this school!

Our son is thriving with loving teachers and a play-based structure. He comes home loving school everyday and is excited to share what he learned. The thing I love most though is the tight community created by the co-op environment. New to town last year, we were welcomed and included from day one, and everyone is kind and supportive. You wouldn't get that at other schools because you don't get to know the parents as well when you just drop your kids at the front door and never get to be in the classroom. My kids are comfortable with the other parents both inside and outside of school and I know they're well taken care of.

This school is magical. I've been a part of The co-op since my oldest was 18 months in Mommy and Me, and now he's 7! My middle son is thriving in the 4's class currently and absolutely loves the enrichment classes offered as well. I love the fact that I'm getting to be a part of my child's first school experiences. I know all of the children in his class, all of the teachers (who are hands down the most fantastic early childhood educators), as well as all of the moms (and dads:). The play based, literacy driven curriculum is wonderful and I can't wait for my 1 year old to start at the co-op when he's 18 months. The school is a very special place, a school like no other. I'm so thankful we've had the opportunity to experience it first hand.
