Not a great experience for my second time using this company. This was a review process of my own accountants return and it took was too long for this review process.
Appointments made were not honored and emails took forever for response. Ended up having to file for an extension because my tax preparer at this office noticed one large glaring mistake in my return in our first and long awaited office meeting which made me want to have her continue her review process. In the end she only found a much smaller amount in a deduction and that is only filing a gain in a different manner which is to for debate. I had to pay for the extension and she asked for a small fee which I paid and now have to go back to my original accountant to see if what she is suggesting is even possible to do. Office was very hard to get in touch with along with the CPA. Two years ago was very positive this time was extremely not. Would be very hesitant to go back.

I had a horrible experience with an older man named Ray Tripodi at H&R Block Ridgewood NJLast year I did my taxes $145 was charged This year I was charged $264. I only made $14,000 because I was caring for my dad at the end of his life. Ray tried to charge me this but the worst was he made scary mistakes and tried to give me a business name he made up and put milage down were I would be at a loss of -23,000 until I asked one of the other agents if this is correct. Then he refused to finish my return and thank God because if I listened to him It would have been my responsibility. He is over 70 years old and isn't able to make good clear decisions on tax returns. I can not believe H&R block would have someone like Ray work for them. Be aware please!

Don’t use these people to do your taxes I still haven’t gotten a 2021 refund due to their stupidity, in addition to this you can’t speak to your tax pro after tax season because they all get laid off until the following tax season… it’s a joke I got the complete run around I had to go to irs office 3 times and now I even have a irs tax advocate and still no refund. They made a mistake so my return had to be done on paper and sent in I had to bring the paperwork to post office and pay for the postage etc myself. These people should be paying me. I had to take off work numerous times to try to get issue resolved still not resolved a year later this place a joke. They don’t care whatsoever and they will not help you. Run

H&R Block in Ridgewood, NJ is a clean, well-organized, highly professional, and extremely courteous place of business. The staff is always friendly and always remembers who you are. I have been going to Toni Mathes to get my taxes completed for the last eleven years. She has continued to excel in what she does, not just as a tax attorney, but as a person. Toni is so caring, tender hearted, and truly cares about each and every one of her clients. As everyone knows getting taxes done is a very stressful time of the year. Toni has successfully year after year taken a huge burden off of my shoulders when it comes to my taxes. She makes it appear so effortless to me. Toni always fluctuates her schedule to accommodate my schedule, which is a huge relief. Toni is supportive, proactive, and an all around kind spirited woman. Thank you H&R Block for all that you do!

I went to this H&R block because my tax return felt extra complicated this year. I wanted a professional to handle my taxes and give me the confidence I felt I was lacking.From the minute I sat down, I got the sense that the person working with me was as confused as I was - not the assurance I was looking for. We began to bumble through the process until we got to a point where they suggested something that, to me, seemed fishy. I asked if it was legal and rather than an unequivocal "yes", they said "weeell..."At this point, I said I was uncomfortable and requested my paperwork back and left the office. I later looked it up; it seems to me that the advice is unambiguously illegal.

I just had a super positive experience with Toni. She did my taxes , but also advocated for me and took a lot of time to help me with the process. I highly recommend her!
