After waiting for 40 minutes and getting rude answer about how much longer it would be, I asked what refraction would cost and was only then told $100! Unlike other practices that charge reasonable fee and disclose the amount of fee before the exam, this practice planned to spring it on me after the exam. I only thought to ask because another reviewer alerted me. The fee should be no more than $25.

Dr Goldfarb was the first in what has became a long line of eye doctors and specialists who have not helped the problem they were faced with. We are still looking for an eye doctor to successfully treat a bacterial eye infection of the cornea. He said “she’s going blind” which was a completely unethical thing to say to a patient by an ophthalmologist. Do not recommend. Beware! You’ve been warned.

He might have been good at one point but no longer is. Brought my husband here for cataracts and he told him he needed a type of surgery for a condition he didn't even have which we later went to a competent eye doctor and found out that it wasn't even existing. Bedside manner was awful told my husband he was legally blind which was another misnomer. I definitely do not recommend this eye doctor.

I had my 1st and last appointment with Dr. Mark S. Goldfarb earlier this week. I was seen by (2) people in his office before I got to him. I told the doctors associates that I had an eye infection the previous week which lasted over 4 days with very blurry vision. My eyes were also very dry & extremely sensitive to light. The 1st lady was very nice, gave me the normal "letter eyechart to read & shot air in my eyes". After advising the 2nd associate of what I experienced the week prior, the gentleman further examined my eyes in their machine and explained to me that everything seemed normal. By the time I saw Dr. Goldfarb, my eyes were already examined by 2 other associates. Dr. Goldfarb examined my eyes again then confirmed my dry eye & gave me a prescription. Dr. Goldfarb then looked at my chart & said "it's good for you that we are a Tier 1 participating provider in your insurance plan as you are getting the best value". Dr. Goldfarb proceeded to walk me to the checkout desk. He handed the lady behind the desk my chart & said "There is a $50.00 co-pay and you are also to charge $100.00 for a refraction". He then walked away. I was in shock. I did not know what a refraction test was, nor at any point was I asked if I wanted a refraction test or told by anyone in his office that a refraction test would cost me an extra $100 out of pocket. Furthermore, there was a sign at the doctors CHECKOUT desk advising that "Refraction is not normally covered by insurance companies and this doctor charges an additional $100.00 out of pocket for this procedure. Dr. Goldfarb purposely withheld this "Refraction" information in order to get me to pay an extra $100.00 for this visit. Dr. Goldfarb proved himself to be dishonest and untrustworthy. These are the last qualities you expect from a doctor. Why would Dr. Goldfarb not disclose the additional $100 charge information prior to giving the "Refraction test"? Dr. Goldfarb's "Refraction sign" was STRATEGICALLY placed at the checkout desk to prevent patients from seeing it before the "Refraction" is done to achieve his long term goal of ripping off as many patients as possible. UNACCEPTABLE. BEWARE of this doctor. He comes across nice but rips you off behind your back. Charges MUST be disclosed before services are rendered.

I had an eye emergency last Wednesday, called my eye Dr and they had nothing then I searched on google and I found Dr Goldfarb who squeezed me in that same morning to see my eye. The front desk was so nice and accommodating, David who I believe is the eye technician was so informative, polite, and very nice and Dr Goldfarb was absolutely the best! He treated my eye which looked horrible and went back for a follow up. The wait time was less than 20 minutes each visit. I definitely recommend Dr Goldfarb.

Had a really bad experience today. First, the African American female doctor was extremely rude. Didn't initially introduce herself. After answering her questions several times she kept repeating the same questions. She arepeating the same questions. She then decided to verbally comment on the condition of my current glasses. I arrived in a wheelchair as I am physically disabled. She also said I should have brought someone with me to the appointment since I'm in a wheelchair. I stated that information would have been helpful to know when I scheduled the appointmentand inquired if the office was wheelchair accessible. Horrible experience an I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone after repeatedly telling her I identify as transgender and keep misgendering me.

I do not recommend!I had a 1:40pm appointment-got there early to complete paper work but got out at 4:30pm (be prepared for a wait). The office is dark, dank and outdated.Dr.Goldfarb was dismissive in his conversation. He also put eyedrops in my eyes without noting the reason or asking if I was driving. The drops were to dilate my eyes which harshly impacted my ability drive 40 minutes back home. (If you decided to go make sure you ask what the doctor is putting in your eyes)The receptionist was rude and clueless.I have insurance that fully covers the examine. This was confirmed by their office; nevertheless the doctor still charged $50.00 "contact fittings" even though they do not provide contacts and $60.00 for a refraction service which I was told HAD to be done. Then said loudly to the receptionist to hold on to my charge card just in case my insurance was fraudulent!I left so annoyed, frustrated & uncomfortable with my experience.Do yourself a favor and do not go to this doctor!I do not recommend AT ALL!

In July I had my routine eye exam at LensCrafters. At the time of my appointment my left eyelid was swollen. I ended up having an eyelash in my eye which was removed. A week later on a Saturday I woke up and my left eye was more swollen and almost completely shut. I went back to LensCrafters and they referred me to a ophthalmologist who was closed on Saturday. I did a Google search in my area and Dr. Goldfarb came up. In panic mode I called the office I spoke with the service and they had the doctor call me. About 10 minutes later I got a call from Dr. Goldfarb whom I’ve never seen before. I explained my situation to him on the phone and he was so nice and explained to me that he does not work on Saturdays. Long story short he agreed to see me as an emergency visit. So I met him at the office and was treated. Just the fact that he called me back so quickly and agreed to see me as an emergency is so wonderful and I am so grateful that he did that. I highly recommend Dr. Goldfarb. He is an amazing eye doctor. I went back for a follow up visit the next Friday before I was leaving for vacation. Not only is he a great doctor his staff was also amazing.

I was told by my optician that I had developed Narrow angles in my eyes (& I it was dangerous to have my eye dilated at that time). She advised I see an ophthalmologist ASAP to diagnose as it MAY cause blindness if untreated. IF necessary the ophthalmologist Can surgically correct. She gave me Goldfarbs Business card.I was a little uneasy about how Dark & Dated the whole Office was. Wood Paneling & Papers piled on desks, appointments squeezed in a journal, in pencil. Dr Goldfarb was rude & dismissive in his conversation when insisting on repetitive tests & THEN just produced a Bottle & tried to put a Dilating Drop in my Eyes; I stopped him to ask what are you doing. I said my Optician just told me that Dilating my Eyes now is dangerous PLUS I had to drive home 20 Minutes in the rain. Then said I would have have to come back again for another test, after I would be scheduled to have the procedure done at Hackensack Hosp.I left so frustrated & uncomfortable with my experience. I decided to go to Dr. Fiskin in Emerson for another opinion. His office experience was totally the opposite & Dr. Fiskin told me, Narrow Angles with my type of vision is not unusual & at this time I do Not need Surgery at this time. After I cancelled my upcoming Appointments, Godfarbs office left at least three messages on my phone wanting to know I will schedule my Surgery & actually called My daughters phone also (She was my Emergency Contact) & left several messages. That is a violation of HEPPA!

I had a really bad experience with this doctor. First, it took them 2 hours to start taking a look at my eyes. Then, they did more stuff than what I was looking for. And finally, the doctor put papers in my eyes after touching them with his bare hands, whish he at least used gloves. I'd never recommend this place to anyone.

This office is out of 18th century. Unless you have 4 hours on hand don’t come here. Came here for my Dad to get checked for cataract. We had appointment at 4PM, had to wait for 1.5 hour before I was seen by the doctor even though there were no patients in waiting area!!! Their process is so outdated and everything is in piles of paper. They book multiple people in one slot and make everyone wait. Technician and front desk are most rude people I have ever seen.
