Creative menu that shouldn't work but does. The combinations play with your head. Chef is a genius. The restaurant is unique and among the best in the state. I would give it 5 Stars for the food and 4 for service. But, any restaurant that refuses entry to those electing not to take a medical experiment that fails to stop transmission of a disease with myocarditis, Bells Palsy, anaphylaxis, nerve damage, turbo cancer and sudden death as side-effects all for an illness with a 99% recovery rate, does not deserve to be in business. Was a regular for many years, but will never return.

New name but same excellent food and service. Chef Loria's imagination has only gotten better. Another night of fabulous and unique courses. Looking forward to our next visit. Nothing better in Jersey.

This is a great spot for a date or special occasion. Dinner is Pre-Fix and the menu changes seasonally. The dining areas are very inviting. The staff was very detail oriented and just enough but not on top of you. Basically the service is impeccable. As for the food everything is timed great and everything we ate was awesome. I thought I might leave hungry initially but that was not the case. Must go to spot for a romantic dinner

Matisse 167 checks all the boxes. Expensive but the overall experience makes it worth the price. The chef packs all types of flavor into every dish and the plate presentation is a thing of beauty. The service is exceptional. Great combination of professional, friendly and timely. They may have changed the name from Cafe Matisse but the experience is as good as ever!

Go here for NYC quality dining in a gem in NJ!!! Byob Chef Peter is an artist! This place takes me back to a NYC Michelin star dining experience. Everything is so delicious and cooked perfectly and the portions are decent. This a high quality food that is seasonal and the menu is updated often! The ambiance offers two options Morocco or the Italian renaissance vibes...the service is always on point. I never had three different servers ask me for my drink upon seating! The water glass is never empty. It took me about 20 years to get a ressy here and now I know why. I do hope that some amazing chef studies under Peter and takes this place over for him one day...he's been here for a longgggg time and I do not want to be missing Matisse!

Serves a price fix 4 course menu The food ambience and atmosphere are excellent Highly recommended particularly for that special occasion The outdoor garden seating is very romantic

My husband and I enjoyed EVERY SINGLE THING we had! Everything was out of this world. We had not been here in a while and are so glad we made it back. Service was amazing as well. Will definitely be back to dine in again very soon!

The menu was so varied , the depth of flavors in each "tower" was extraordinary and the layering of different textures was outstanding. Only the brownie desert was under par. The Brownie was too hard, and the overall effect too sweet for my taste. The service was attentive, welcoming and respectful. All the servers seemed happy to be there and take pride in their work.

AMAZING dining experience from start to finish. We love the tasting menu experience and cannot believe some of the flavors the chef puts together! Keep an open mind and enjoy...one of the best restaurants in Norther NJ and has been for like 30 years!

I was so excited to try this place based on all these positive reviews. However, I have to admit that it was far from what I expected. The food is very mediocre and nothing special, especially for the price you’re paying. Most of the courses were missing flavors. Service was good though hence the 3 stars.

I honestly do not understand why this place has negative reviews. From the moment we walked in for our anniversary dinner till the end we had nothing to complain. Great service, amazing food which is good portion size and good people around . Everyone were extremely friendly and polite. Will definitely come
