The GM, Michael L., was a real life saver. He really went above and beyond. The hotel itself was great, but Michael was the real all star. Thank you!

Let me start by saying this hotel is running some kind of scam. We had a comedy show in August The comedy club. Conveniently is in the hotel, but they claim no affiliation to each other. This is a big deal because The comedian canceled. We had no reason to go to New Jersey for a night the hotel would not refund our stay. We were out over $350. Then the comedian rescheduled. Had we booked another room We would’ve been out another 300 and some more dollars because the comedian canceled again. I do not know what kind of scam this is but it’s dead wrong. You can’t say you’re not affiliated with the comedy club, That’s located in your hotel, When you tell people that it’s in your hotel. You’re basically advertising your hotel by telling people the comedy club is in it. Every comedy club flyer says located in the Renaissance Hotel. Why wouldn’t people book a room? If it’s in your hotel that’s common sense. Now you’re robbing people. I’m just making everyone aware. I would not book ahead of time. They do not refund for any reason whatsoever.

Nice hotel. Food is fine, but not great. Service is good, but not great. I hope they improve. Will still use them.

Best staff we've ever experienced. Sha gave me his personal charger when I was in a bind. The night crew on Oct 5th ran around the hotel to find us amenities, and carried furniture outside to accommodate our late night hang out. Chatting it up with them helped us understand how genuine they are. I'll always stay here.
Rooms: Fix wireless charger, keycards, include utensils in room.

Excellent service - foods are amazing, close to many restaurants/bars.
If you’re visiting during football season, definitely go for the balcony rooms!

Stayed overnight while attending a wedding. Central location to activities in NJ/NYC. A little noisy due to its location near busy highways. Restaurant on premises. Check in and out was simple and quick.

Stayed overnight with our 2 grandsons( 8 and 10). We were going to Medieval Times. The hotel is right around the corner.
The room was clean and quiet. We opted to get the breakfast included. The food was fantastic! The boys finished everything on their plates. The wait staff was attentive and gracious.
We would definitely stay there again.

I’m in NYC nearly weekly and if you travel to NY you know how expensive the hotels in Manhattan and midtown can get during peak seasons. Not to include parking. With my business I drive Cadillac Escalades so you can add on another $100 just for parking.
The Renaissance is about 25 mins from downtown NYC depending on the time of day so staying here is convenient for me. It’s affordable and the staff is AMAZING from the front desk to the bar and all the way up to the Executive Lounge. At the front desk, Franz, Linetta, Imani, Shai, And Dan are always welcoming and helpful. The bar staff is great and if you have lingering access be sure to meet Danelly in the mornings you won’t regret it.
The food at the restaurant is pretty good too but there are other nearby alternatives.
And the Renaissance is only minutes from the American Dream mall and the Met Life Stadium
Complex.

The hotel is very nice, the rooms are nice, and the staff is amazing! We had our wedding block here and the staff was always very helpful and attentive.
Nonetheless, if you want the tldr, scroll to the last paragraph for a hotel that gives you more perks for a wedding block.
The reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because that goes to the staff and how wonderful they were, the management there is not so great and very unfair. We had our wedding block there, but you get nothing in return for choosing that hotel as your wedding block. They do not provide a shuttle service, free breakfast every morning or at least a free breakfast the morning after your wedding, or even one free night for the newly wed couple. They required that at least 70% of the wedding block be booked every night so that made things stressful. We didn't want to chance having to pay for extra rooms on top of everything else we're paying for so we made the block small and then expanded as it got filled. However, not all of our guests told us they couldn't make the block and just booked direct with the hotel. So when they arrived, they didn't get a welcome bag and had no idea they were supposed to.
We had signed with the hotel 9 months before the wedding and tried to cancel the contract just two weeks after signing due to some complications that came up when planning the wedding. They would not let us out of the contract unless we paid $5k+ which is outrageous! We were 9 months out and had signed only two weeks prior. We thought canceling the hotel would have been the least of our worries especially that far in advance. Anyone we spoke to was very shocked at how the hotel management team handled this.
After complaining to friends and family, we were quickly told that the exchange was not normal. Good wedding block hotels will give you at a minimum free breakfast the morning after the wedding and flexible hotel room blocks where there's no penalty if the rooms don't book up. Whatever rooms that are not booked up are just released some weeks before the wedding, but people can still call in and say they're part of the wedding and be added to the block so they get a welcome bag.
If you want a better option for a hotel wedding block, check out the Fairfield Hampton Inn and Suites. They have flexible room blocks, free breakfast every morning, free shuttles, will hand out your welcome bags for you, and a free night for the wedding couple. The hotel is also newly renovated.
