I would like to say the units are over priced infested with mice and they will keep your stuff stuff even if you paid for it. They disable your your code to get in and when you call you get no answer when you email you get no answer a very poor business model.

I reserved a van online from the Hackensack location. Less than an hour before pick up tome, I received a call to pick up from Saddle Brook, which was further away from my destination. Before I returned the van, I replaced the fuel I used. When I returned the keys, I asked for a credit for the mileage difference between Hackensack and Saddle Brook and was told my bill was credited. Hours later, I received a bill with a fuel charge and no mileage credit. I called and was told there was an adjustment made to the rate, but there was not a credit for the miles. I was issued a credit for $7.50, but I had been charged $19.95 in gas for driving a mere 15 miles, which I replaced on top if a milage fee!!!! When I contacted the GM, I did not even get a response. This is a poorly managed business that seems to operate using bait and switch tactics. I have have my first and last experience here.

Barry Rip-off artist. My quote was $515.00. They would not unload the truck unless they were $1015. I could not talk to the guy who gave me the quote, Matt Miller. He refused to get on the phone. A terrible experience. Do not do business with this company.

Absolutely horrible company. Had booked my truck 4 days in advance, went there to get the truck, had a terrible time checking in. The girl at the desk had shit for brains and was rude, the nonsense scan in tablet wouldn't except any of my verification codes or phone numbers and therefore couldn't check in. Was a hassle to get refunded and since the girl at the desk was so rude, she refused to give us our refund receipt. Lost the business. Went to Home Depot instead. Don't waste your valued time or money.

Made a short-notice reservation for a box truck (I needed it the next day), the person on the phone helped me out, set me up with the exact size i wanted and we were able to pick it up at 9am. 19.99 rental plus cost per mile. had it for about 6 hours and the total came to just over $100. That's pretty good IMO - especially since I've had many problems in the past with places that say "we have it" and then I show up and they go "we don't have that size, but...."

Amazing customer service - the owner Allan is friendly, hands on, and unbelievably accommodating!! Went in to install a hitch and a bike rack (that I pre ordered). He put my bike rack on site and after the first one was too cumbersome for me to take on an off he offered another solution on the spot. Can't say enough about how flexible he was - a huge thank you!!!

Needed a van to move a huge snow blower recently. Yes it's out of season but who cares? It will be there when we need it ; ). U Haul did not have vans but they rented to us a small moving truck which worked beautifully. Pete the manager was friendly and professional. I'm sorry to have forgotten the young woman's name who also worked in the office but she was very friendly and thorough. We were very happy with them and will rent from them again I'm sure. I don't understand why all the extraneous complaints are about a trailer hitch. Really? It's no easy feat, assuming the hitch you're complaining about are the ones used to pull a vehicle. Installation for those TAKE TIME and the installer also needs to know what kind of vehicle you are pulling. If you want it installed faster then you have a death wish. If the hitch is a regular ball hitch buy the thing and install it yourself. All it takes is a socket wrench and 15 minutes of your time.

Purchased and reserved hitch install online. Called to confirm the day before. Showed up to appointment and was informed they did not have the hitch and it was on back order. The manager said if anyone called me to let me know they didn't have it and I said No but that would have been appreciated. Would have saved me a 30 minute drive. No empathy and no offer to make it right for my trouble. It was a terrible customer experience. Be wary of using these guys if you ordered the hitch install on-line. Otherwise you'll waste your time.

I reserved a truck online at this location for Saturday morning. When I arrived they told me that they didn't have any trucks available, yet there were more than several in the lot. They called the Newark location and they said they had a truck so we were sent there. We arrived at the Newark location only to be told they didn't have any trucks! The Newark location sent us to Jersey City! At this point, we had wasted 2 hours of daylight and 50 + miles of travel and gas! This was such a waste of my time, I would have done a lot better renting from another company. Communication is severely lacking here!

Terrible customer service. went in to rent a truck stood at the counter for 10 minutes while 1 employee was helping another customer the other employee sat there behind the counter playing with his phone. I walked out and went to budget and rented there.

This place defines bad service. What's the point of pre paying and making the appointment on line to have a simple trailer hitch installed if it takes over 30 minutes waiting on line just to check in. Upon checking in I am told to leave the car and come back in 5 hours. Really? When I booked on the web I selected that I would wait. The clerk at the store now tells me it doesn't matter what check on line they tell everyone 5 hours I got a refund and left

Do not rent from here. Save yourself the trouble and pay the extra few $ for Penske or budget. Bad trucks, bad service. Truck broke down and then they tried to charge me for mileage that the tow company put on the truck. Stay away!

Made an appt a week ago to have a trailer hitch installed on new SUV - spoke to "Howard". Took car in today for installation. Had 9:30 appt, received email at 10:13 saying my appt was 10:30. I was told it would take about an hour - 2-1/2 hours later, my husband stopped them as they were ready to cut into the bumper of brand new SUV for installation, after removing mounding from wheel well and dropping exhaust system. Maybe all of this should have been explained when I was told "oh, it will only take about an hour". Of course, now we're told there is no "Howard" that works there, which is the name I was given when I was asking questions.
