I do work on my own cars but have used Scotch Plains Auto for over 8 years beginning at their prior location for jobs that are over the top in labor or over my head in complexity. Every time, they have been smooth, clean, and efficient. As a customer I'm also reasonable and understanding. I enjoy the personality of the owner and his team, and really appreciate their expertise, solving issues on my vehicles that I couldn't figure out. I've had a timing belt replaced, coolant hoses replaced, and a very annoying valve located at the top of a gas tank replaced in another vehicle. Excellent work!Services: General repairs & maintenance

What an awful experience this was. I don't understand how this place can have such ratings. If I could give it zero stars I would. To start I left my car on Wednesday morning and the guy assured me it would be done no later than Thursday. No phone call nothing until Friday morning when I called this place. It seems that he had totally forgotten what needed to be done. Then he started playing phone tag. If he didn't have the time he should've told me from the beginning. He never called back so I went to pick up my car before they close. To my surprise he hasn't done anything.. 3 days later and he kept saying he would call me back??? What type of game is that??!!! DO NOT go to this place!

Zero stars! Owner called me to say all the parts were in to fix my car. I said "Are you sure you have the parts that you need?" He said yes. I drove over an hour to get to the shop and he tells me he has the wrong parts. I reminded him that he assured me over the phone that he had the right parts. Instead of taking responsibility for his actions he tried to say that he was not here when I originally brought my car in to see what it needed. That does not matter because it was someone from the same business who checked my car and ordered the parts. Never again! You lost a customer!

Todd C is and his SPAC business are a staple in the community. I have been a loyal customer of his for close to 2 decades. Anything from routine break work, to air conditioning to transmission, he is straight forward with his analysis, cost estimates and follow up support.

Professional, courteous, trustworthy, clear and concise explanations on all the repairs that you will need on your vehicle. Labor rate and prices for parts are justified. Great shop I bring all my vehicles there. The mechanics are exemplary.

Had been going to Dave’s Shell for many years and was worried about finding someone again who I could trust to identify legitimate problems and charge fair prices. I do not know diddly about cars and have to put blind faith in the mechanic. Went to Scotch Plains Auto Care for my daughters car and believe we have found our new go-to place. Felt like we were treated fairly and honestly. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Scotch Plains Auto Care, LLC for about 7, maybe 8 years now and the service that is always provided is exceptional! Todd is such a warm and friendly individual along with the rest of his staff! Gets the job 110% each time and always gets me back on the road ASAP! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to get your cars checked out there whether its a standard oil change, or your car is not running at all. They are the ones who will get the job done right each time!

Scotch Plains auto is the best garage in this part of Jersey. The owner will only perform necessary repairs to get the car in operable working condition. This means you won't spend money on a repair from a mistaken diagnosis or an "upsell" repair which is common at a chain auto garage or even a dealership. Recently, this garage saved me a some cash when compared to the same repair from the dealership. My car is solid and ready thanks to Todd/Scotch Plains Auto!
