Great public state Park to visit for swimming, Sun bathing, boating etc. Lots of trails and a nature center, with good food options as well.

Island Beach State Park is one of my favorite spots in NJ. The beach is beautiful, not too expensive at $6 a car, and it feels way more peaceful than a lot of other shore towns. I love how natural it is, with the dunes, trails, and wildlife still intact. Perfect place to relax, go for a walk, or just enjoy the ocean without all the noise and chaos.

I was invited here for a birthday party. Unfortunately, the park wasn't allowing any more guests to enter for over 2 hours. The birthday party had to change venues. Since I couldn't enter there is nothing to rare. Additionally, we asked if we parked somewhere else and walked in would that be okay. The state police said no.

I've been coming to this place for years and years. It has actual bath houses where you can shower inside or out after swimming, natural dunes, nature trails, plenty of room to walk around and run in the surf, lifeguards, fishing, biking, and best of all, no beach tags.

Went for the first time in many years itās just not the same. Was so disappointed there are not showers anymore that was the best reason to come here. Bathrooms where disgusting and changing rooms as well. Had to hold my breath thru my mouth while using the bathroom because itās smelled so horrible!!!!! We will not be returning.

Never caught a fish here. Many rip tides. Lots of sand fleas in shallow water. Aggressive waves. Pictures show low tide. No dogs or raking allowed.

This place is a complete fraud. I drove almost an hour to come to this beach with both of my dogs because of all the reviews on here and when I got there, the guy told me that you can either swim or have your dogs. You cannot do both if you have dogs, you are not allowed in the water and then when I was leaving, so 20$ down the drain!! So annoying !! So many rules! From the entrance to the actually heaving an xtra 5 miles what a waste of an entire day on my vacation
